Nevermind is the second studio album by the American rock band Nirvana, released on September 24, 1991. Produced by Butch Vig, Nevermind was the group's first release on DGC Records. Frontman Kurt Cobain sought to make music outside the restrictive confines of the Seattle grunge scene, drawing influence from groups such as the Pixies and their use of "loud/quiet" dynamics. It is their first album to feature drummer Dave Grohl.
Despite low commercial expectations by the band and its record label, Nevermind became a surprise success in late 1991, largely due to the popularity of its first single, "Smells Like Teen Spirit". By January 1992, it had replaced Michael Jackson's album Dangerous at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The album also produced three other successful singles: "Come as You Are", "Lithium", and "In Bloom". The Recording Industry Association of America has certified the album diamond (at least 10 million copies shipped), and the album has sold at least 24 million copies worldwide. Nevermind was in part responsible for bringing both alternative rock and grunge to a large, mainstream audience, and has been ranked highly on lists of the greatest albums of all time by publications such as Rolling Stone and Time.
Kurt Donald Cobain (February 20, 1967 – c. April 5, 1994) was an American musician who was best known as the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the rock band Nirvana. Cobain formed Nirvana with Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1985 and established it as part of the Seattle music scene and grunge genre. Nirvana's debut album Bleach released on the independent record label Sub Pop in 1989.
After signing with major label DGC Records, the band found breakthrough success with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from its second album Nevermind (1991). Following the success of Nevermind, Nirvana was labeled "the flagship band" of Generation X, and Cobain hailed as "the spokesman of a generation". Cobain, however, was often uncomfortable and frustrated, believing his message and artistic vision to have been misinterpreted by the public, with his personal issues often subject to media attention.
During the last years of his life, Cobain struggled with heroin addiction, illness and depression. He also had difficulty coping with his fame and public image, and the professional and lifelong personal pressures surrounding himself and his wife, musician Courtney Love. On April 8, 1994, Cobain was found dead at his home in Seattle, the victim of what was officially ruled a suicide by a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head. The circumstances of his death at age 27 have become a topic of public fascination and debate. Since their debut, Nirvana, with Cobain as a songwriter, has sold over 25 million albums in the U.S., and over 75 million worldwide. Cobain was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, along with Nirvana bandmates Novoselic and Dave Grohl, in their first year of eligibility.

the lyrics
From the dvd live Tonight Sold Out. from the Jonathan Ross show 1991 and in Amsterdam 1991.
To achieve the otherworldly, jangle-crunch for the guitars on Nevermind's punkiest track, "Territorial Pissings," Cobain defied producer Butch Vig's protests and plugged his instrument right into the mixing desk. He recorded the song in one take. The guitar crackle sets the prickly tone for Cobain's lyrics about paranoia and a hardly poetic jab at patriarchy ("Never met a wise man, if so it's a woman"). It also contrasts the peachy-keen opening verses that Krist Novoselic swiped from the hippie-dippie Youngbloods tune "Get Together." "It wasn't really that thought into," Novoselic said of his contribution. "I like that Youngbloods song." But even though the song's riff sounds particularly mean, not everything about it was so angsty. Regarding the first verse, "When I was an alien," Cobain ...

Indonesian grunge all stars joined together to give tribute to one of America’s most popular alternative rock acts in the 90’s, Nirvana. In this fully packed event, they covered various Nirvana songs like “Something in The Way,” “Territorial Pissing,” “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Lithium,” and “Heart-shaped Box.” The event ended with a group photo session with the audience.
The best live performance of each Nevermind song. Almost all of the few negative reviews Nevermind had were related to the sound of the songs. To some fans, they were "too polished." Anyways, the songs played live are very different than their studio counterparts. This versions sound heavier and rawer. By the way, this is not a bootleg, this is just a compilation I made. Stay Away, Something in the Way and Endless Nameless are kind of low quality, sorry for that, there was nothing I could do. (00:00) 1. Smells Like Teen Spirit (04:29) 2. In Bloom (08:40) 3.
