Nirvana (Elbosco song)

"Nirvana" is a 1995 new-age song written and composed by Rojotua, Loxatus and C. Max and performed by the Spanish musical group Elbosco. The song became a world success and was also used by Danny Boyle in the 2004 film Millions.

The song contains some lyrics in Latin, sung by the choral group of the Escolanía del Real Monasterio of San Lorenzo and also English lyrics, all this combined with a techno and hip-hop feel.

Love & Disrespect

Love & Disrespect is the debut album of New Zealand band, Elemeno P. It was released 4 July 2003 through Universal Records.Love & Disrespect debuted at #1 on the New Zealand Album charts.

The first single "Fast Times in Tahoe", peaked at #32 in the New Zealand Singles chart, and "Urban Getaway" reached #27.

Moksha (Jainism)

Sanskrit moksha or Prakrit mokkha means liberation or salvation. It is a blissful state of existence of a soul, completely free from the karmic bondage, free from saṃsāra, the cycle of birth and death. A liberated soul is said to have attained its true and pristine nature of infinite bliss, infinite knowledge and infinite perception. Such a soul is called siddha and is revered as a God.

Overview

In Jainism, it is the highest and the noblest objective that a soul should strive to achieve. In fact, it is the only objective that a person should have; other objectives are contrary to the true nature of soul. With right view, knowledge and efforts all souls can attain this state. That is why Jainism is also known as mokṣamārga or the "path to liberation".

Bhavyata

From the point of view of potentiality of mokṣa, Jain texts bifurcates the souls in two categories–bhavya and abhavya. Bhavya souls are those souls who have faith in mokṣa and hence will make some efforts to achieve liberation. This potentiality or quality is called bhavyata. However, bhavyata itself does not guarantee mokṣa, as the soul needs to expend necessary efforts to attain it. On the other hand, abhavya souls are those souls who cannot attain liberation as they do not have faith in mokṣa and hence never make any efforts to attain it.

Restless (New Order song)

"Restless" is a song by English rock band New Order, released on 28 July 2015 to promote their upcoming tenth album, Music Complete. This is the first single, as well as new material, New Order has released in a decade since 2005's single, "Waiting for the Sirens' Call", as well as the first single featuring Tom Chapman replacing former bassist and founding member Peter Hook. The song's concept revolves around greed and consumption.

The song has received generally favourable reviews. The overall composition, as well as its catchy tune and lyrics were praised.

Background

This is the first single released since 2005, as well as the return of Gillian Gilbert and the introduction of Tom Chapman.

Music Complete was announced from 2 September 2014 thru 22 June 2015 on Stereogum, Consequence of Sound, as well as other places, including the band's official website. They all hinted at a future release of an LP, as well as other future releases.

On July 28, the single was released as a format of digital download. A physical CD and 12" vinyl with additional remixes were released later on October 6.

Restless (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

"Restless" is the 22nd episode and season finale of season four of the supernatural drama television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003), and the 78th episode of the series overall. The episode was written and directed by the show's creator Joss Whedon and originally aired on The WB in the United States on May 23, 2000.

The premise of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is that an adolescent girl, Buffy Summers, is chosen by mystical forces and given superhuman powers to kill vampires, demons, and other evil creatures in the fictional town of Sunnydale. She is supported by a close circle of family and friends, nicknamed the Scooby Gang. "Restless" centers on the dreams of the four main characters after enduring an exhausting fight in the previous episode. The dreams are used to comment on the characters—their fears, their past and their possible future. Consistent with each dream is the presence of the First Slayer who hunts and kills them one by one until, in the final sequence, she is confronted and disempowered by Buffy.

Air (classical element)

Air (also sometimes called Wind) is often seen as a universal power or pure substance. Its fundamental importance to life can be seen in words such as aspire, inspire, perspire and spirit, all derived from the Latin spirare.

Greek and Roman tradition

Air is one of the four classical elements in ancient Greek philosophy and science. According to Plato, it is associated with the octahedron; air is considered to be both hot and wet. The ancient Greeks used two words for air: aer meant the dim lower atmosphere, and aether meant the bright upper atmosphere above the clouds.Plato, for instance writes that "So it is with air: there is the brightest variety which we call aether, the muddiest which we call mist and darkness, and other kinds for which we have no name...." Among the early Greek Pre-Socratic philosophers, Anaximenes (mid-6th century BCE) named air as the arche. A similar belief was attributed by some ancient sources to Diogenes Apolloniates (late 5th century BCE), who also linked air with intelligence and soul (psyche), but other sources claim that his arche was a substance between air and fire.Aristophanes parodied such teachings in his play The Clouds by putting a prayer to air in the mouth of Socrates.
