Emil Gilels
Emil Grigoryevich Gilels (sometimes transliterated Hilels;Russian: Эми́ль Григо́рьевич Ги́лельс, Emiľ Grigoriević Gileľs; 19 October 1916 – 14 October 1985) was a Soviet pianist, widely regarded as one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century.
Childhood (1916–1929)
Gilels was born on 19 October 1916 (6 October, Old Style) in Odessa, Russian Empire (now part of Ukraine), the son of Esfir and Grigory Gilels, Lithuanian Jews. His father worked as a clerk in a sugar refinery. His sister Elizaveta, born 3 years later, subsequently became a renowned violinist.
Gilels had perfect pitch, and at age of five and a half, he began lessons with Yakov Tkach, a famous piano pedagogue in Odessa. A quick learner, he was playing all three volumes of Loeschhorn's studies within a few months, and soon afterwards Clementi and Mozart sonatinas. Gilels later credited this strict training with Tkach for establishing the foundation of his technique. In turn, Tkach commented on Gilels:

Surname
A surname or family name is a name added to a given name. In many cases, a surname is a family name and many dictionaries define "surname" as a synonym of "family name". In the western hemisphere, it is commonly synonymous with last name because it is usually placed at the end of a person's given name.
In most Spanish-speaking and Portuguese-speaking countries, two or more last names (or surnames) may be used. In China, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Madagascar, Taiwan, Vietnam, and parts of India, the family name is placed before a person's given name.
The style of having both a family name (surname) and a given name (forename) is far from universal. In many countries, it is common for ordinary people to have only one name or mononym.
The concept of a "surname" is a relatively recent historical development, evolving from a medieval naming practice called a "byname". Based on an individual's occupation or area of residence, a byname would be used in situations where more than one person had the same name.

Num bar, ele encontra Danny O'Mare que pretende fazer da sua namorada Bonnie Watson uma estrela de um musical. Outra atriz do bar, Princess Querida O'Toole (Carmen Miranda), acha que Kenneth é um homem rico quando ele puxa do bolso todo o dinheiro que trouxe. Kenneth e Bonnie iniciam um romance para desespero de Danny. Um maestro famoso se interessa pela obra de Kenneth, pretendendo estreá-la no Carnegie Hall. Kenneth trabalha duramente na peça que seria para o show no bar de Danny, mesmo que Bonnie tenha escrito já a letra. Uma confusão se estabelece quando um dos músicos rouba o pagamento da orquestra. Além disso, Kenneth é preso ao transportar bebida fornecida por Princess Querida. Mas os ensaios continuam e Danny paga a fiança de Kenneth no dia da estréia do musical, com Bonnie e Querida apresentando-se. As confusões se esclarecem e Bonnie e Kenneth abraçam-se ao final do filme.

Emil Hartmann was the eldest son of Johan Peter emilius Hartmann, as he was given private tuition by at home. Hartmann showed early for the musical genes also was a legacy to him, since he began composing before he could speak. His first major compositional task, he received in 1858, when he, together with his childhood friend and later brother-in-law August Winding were entrusted to write the music for August Bournonville's ballet fjeldstuen. A year later departed Hartmann of place to Germany, and he continued to spread his musical activities between Germany and Denmark. In Germany saw Hartmann great success as a result of his high ambitions and his frequent concert tours, where he conducted his works. In her Danish homeland were Emil Hartmann, in contrast, often categorised as "his father's son and Niels w. Gade's son-in-law". Emil Hartmann was first and foremost a church musician, but he also had a great interest for a scenic music and composed the ballet partiturer, operas and singspiele. To the concert hall he composed symphonies, choral works as well as chamber music and piano works.
