The Gauntlet (film)

The Gauntlet is a 1977 American action film directed by Clint Eastwood, starring Eastwood and Sondra Locke. The film's supporting cast includes Pat Hingle, William Prince, Bill McKinney, and Mara Corday. Eastwood plays a down-and-out cop who falls in love with a prostitute (Locke) whom he is assigned to escort from Las Vegas to Phoenix in order for her to testify against the mob.

Plot

Ben Shockley, an alcoholic cop from Phoenix, is well on his way to becoming a down-and-out when he is given the task to escort witness Gus Mally from Las Vegas. His superior, Commissioner Blakelock says that it's a "nothing witness" for a "nothing trial." Mally protests that they are both set up to be killed in a hit, which a jaded Shockley doubts. Mally soon reveals herself to be a belligerent prostitute with mob ties and is in possession of incriminating information concerning a high figure in society.

Her suspicions are confirmed when the transport vehicle is bombed and Mally's house is fired upon. Shockley and Mally are then pursued across the open country with no official assistance and with the police force regarding them as fugitives. They kidnap a local Constable, who they then let go, as Mally knows there'll be another hit. The Constable dies at the hands of several men armed with machine guns. They eventually run into a gang of bikers whom Shockley threatens with his gun sending them on their way, confiscates one of their modified Harley-Davidson motorcycles and takes off on it with Mally.

This is a list of episodes in the American animated television series Ben 10: Alien Force. A total of 46 episodes have been produced and aired. At the 2008 Comic Con, series producers revealed the show was picked up for a third season. The third season was revealed to have 20 episodes (instead of the usual 13) on story editor/executive producer Dwayne McDuffie's forum. Originally, series producers Dwayne McDuffie and Glen Murakami designed the first 26 episodes to be the first season. Cartoon Network, without their consent, split the order into the first two seasons. The pilot of the series set a record as the most-watched original series premiere in Cartoon Network history among various young age groups according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. The one-hour premiere also scored as the highest-rated telecast of the day on both cable and broadcast among similar age groups.

The Gauntlet and Grim Hunt

"The Gauntlet" and "Grim Hunt" are 2009-2010 storylines published by Marvel Comics. Despite being more issues "The Gauntlet" was solicited as leading up to the "Grim Hunt" story, and the two storylines are interconnected. Written by The Amazing Spider-Man architects (Mark Waid, Marc Guggenheim, Fred Van Lente and Joe Kelly), "The Gauntlet" is not a strict event or storyline; it is the branding that indicates the direction of Spider-Man's life. In effect it is an event similar to Dark Reign only focusing on Spider-Man and his circle. "Grim Hunt" directly follows "The Gauntlet" and acts as a sequel of sorts to "Kraven's Last Hunt". The storyline received generally positive reviews.

Premise

The story features many old Spider-Man villains: Sandman, Electro, Chameleon, Mysterio, Hammerhead, Lizard, Morbius, the Living Vampire and Rhino as well as appearances by Deadpool,Scorpion II, Vulture (Jimmy Natale), and Juggernaut.

"The Gauntlet is basically the over-arching theme of the Spidey stores starting in November. It's built of individual stories bring back Spidey's classic enemies. So it's not some 18-part story, where you're going to see "The Gauntlet Part 7" and "Part 8" and so on. What it is is sort of a branding for the level of conflict building in Spider-Man's life. A Million Lights

A Million Lights is the third studio album by English recording artist Cheryl Cole, released on 15 June 2012 through Fascination Records. Following her divorce from Ashley Cole, this is Cole's first album to be released under the mononym Cheryl, dropping her married surname. The album was recorded in 2011 and 2012. As the executive producer of the album, Cole enlisted a variety of producers such as Alex da Kid, Calvin Harris, will.i.am, Pantha, Agent X, HyGrade, Dada Life, Jim Beanz, Taio Cruz, Mathias Wollo, The Beamer Boyz, Billy Wes, Electric, Bibi Jones and Dave Munday. Sonically, the album is rooted in pop and dance-pop genres.

Upon its release, A Million Lights received mainly mixed to positive reviews from music critics, who commended its progression from Cole's previous albums, but were ambivalent towards the mix of genres. The album debuted on the UK Albums Chart at position two, selling 34,934 copies in its first week. A Million Lights also peaked at two on the Irish Albums Chart, and one on the Scottish albums chart. A Million Lights was certified Gold in the United Kingdom for shipments of 100,000 copies.
