Ted is an upcoming 2012 American comedy film, directed, written and produced by Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy, American Dad! and co-creator of The Cleveland Show) and stars himself, Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Giovanni Ribisi, Jessica Stroup, and Patrick Warburton. Filming began in May 2011 in Boston and Swampscott, Massachusetts. The movie, which is the feature-length directorial debut for MacFarlane, is produced by Media Rights Capital, and will be distributed by Universal Pictures.
John (Mark Wahlberg) is a perfectly normal Boston native whose childhood wish for his teddy bear to come to life comes true. The bear, Ted (voiced by director Seth MacFarlane) remains his best friend into his adult years. Conflict emerges when Ted's irresponsible and vulgar slacker lifestyle comes in the way of John's attempt to embrace his adulthood and the woman of his dreams, Lori (Mila Kunis).
MacFarlane's directorial debut is a live-action effort, except for the computer-animated Ted, who will be handled by visual effects facility Tippett Studio. MacFarlane wrote the screenplay with his Family Guy colleagues Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. The opening crawl for the Family Guy episode "It's a Trap!," released on DVD on December 21, 2010, alludes to Ted in the sentence, "But Fox suddenly had dollar signs in their eyes, and they said, 'Seth, if you don't do Jedi, we're not gonna let you leave to go direct your movie.'" MacFarlane announced the movie in the February 10, 2011 episode of Conan.

A film, also called a movie or motion picture, is a series of still or moving images. It is produced by recording photographic images with cameras, or by creating images using animation techniques or visual effects. The process of filmmaking has developed into an art form and industry.
Films are cultural artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect those cultures, and, in turn, affect them. Film is considered to be an important art form, a source of popular entertainment and a powerful method for educating – or indoctrinating – citizens. The visual elements of cinema give motion pictures a universal power of communication. Some films have become popular worldwide attractions by using dubbing or subtitles that translate the dialogue into the language of the viewer.
Films are made up of a series of individual images called frames. When these images are shown rapidly in succession, a viewer has the illusion that motion is occurring. The viewer cannot see the flickering between frames due to an effect known as persistence of vision, whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed. Viewers perceive motion due to a psychological effect called beta movement.
