Cuban-born journalist and author Alex Abella was allowed exclusive access inside the RAND Corporation to view their archives. What he discovered was a plot driven by mad scientists, behaviorists, and generals who were intent on starting world war three and fleecing the American people in the process. Once he was a skeptic on the subject of conspiracy theories and the new world order, but after his work with the RAND Corporation he is now convinced that this top secret think tank has been pulling the strings of American government for at least 60 years.
"We're all the bastard children of RAND and we don't even know it," remarks Abella, as he charts how RAND started off as an organization centered around building new weapons for the military but ultimately expanded into politics, science, history and economics and was closely allied with the Ford, Rockefeller and Carnegie foundations. RAND's decision in the 50's to re-model the globe towards a new world order changed everything, with the development of "rational choice theory," which turned people from being citizens into consumers, as rights and responsibilities were replaced with choices and people's lives slowly came to be dominated not by integrity or what they stood for, but by what they spent their money on.
RAND's ultimate goal was to have technocrats running every aspect of society in pursuit of a one world government that would be administered under "the rule of reason," a ruthless world where efficiency was king and men were little more than machines, which is why RAND studied the social sciences because they were at a loss to work out how to deal with people and how human beings did not always act in their own predictable self-interests. There is no place for love, empathy or selflessness in the new world order that RAND and the Ford Foundation are working to create, and patriotism and altruism are adversarial to their aims.
Abella explains how RAND was instrumental in developing the strategy behind the use of nuclear weapons, and how they actively promoting nuking the entirety of Eastern Europe as well as China in case of problems in Western Europe, a policy that could easily have sparked off a catastrophic nuclear holocaust. RAND researchers believed that as long as 10 million Americans survived a nuclear war, the war was won.
Abella notes how RAND saw the United Nations as a template for one world government but that a new organization controlled by the U.S. would eventually supersede the UN and become the de facto world government, which is why RAND researchers such as John Williams advocated pre-emptive nuclear strikes on the Soviet Union, to make sure the United States would be the only country with the supreme power to impose its will on the rest of the world.

The RAND Corp was originally an outgrowth project of World War II, called Project RAND, in May of 1948 it separated from the Douglas Aircraft Company and became it's own independent, nonprofit organization.
George Kocher of the RAND Corporation, published this document in November of 1968, a few months after the University of Colorado completed it's Condon Report. The RAND Corp document is broken into five different essays, Historical Aspects, Astronomical Aspects, The Character of Reports, Phenomenological Aspects, and How to Proceed and Why. These essays explore the types of reports and sightings, how they are categorized, and a list of hypotheses that exist surrounding the phenomenon. The document also provides an example of a detailed UFO report form developed by the University of Colorado's study group.

RAND Corporation (Research ANd Development) is an American nonprofit global policy think tank originally formed by Douglas Aircraft Company to offer research and analysis to the United States Armed Forces. The Northeast is home to approximately 64 million people and is one of the most built-up environments in the world. Since much of the population and infrastructure is located along the coast, this region is extremely vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, as was most clearly seen when Hurricanes Irene and Sandy struck in 2011 and 2012, respectively. Between 1958 and 2010, the Northeast experienced a 70 percent increase in the amount of precipitation falling during very heavy events.
The Third National Climate Assessment (NCA), which was released on May 6, projects that climate change will further threaten the region’s environmental, social, and economic systems. While many of the states and municipalities in the Northeast have developed plans to mitigate and adapt to the threats of climate change, implementation is still in the early stages. How have federal, state, and local government initiatives acted to increase resiliency against current and future impacts of climate change? What more can and should be done to reduce these risks?
The NCA defines the Northeast as the “high-density urban coastal corridor from Washington D.C. to Boston,” and includes the 12 states of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia. The NCA states that private and public infrastructure will be increasingly compromised by sea level rise, coastal flooding, and intense precipitation events. Infrastructure at significant risk includes networks for energy supply, transportation, communications, water supply, and wastewater treatment. The potential regional and national economic impacts—absent investment for adaptation—are staggering. The direct effects of more frequent flooding and extreme heat events, compounded by infrastructure failures, could lead to increased health risks and death rates for the region’s residents, especially its most disadvantaged populations (i.e., the elderly, children, low-income individuals). Warmer weather may result in a longer growing season, which has mixed implications for the region’s agricultural sector.

Benefits of U.S. overseas security commitments far outweigh costs: Rand
A new study has found that America’s security commitments abroad are a net economic gain for the U.S. amounting to hundreds of billions of dollars. In a recent report, the Rand Corporation said the economic benefits of the United States' military footprint outweigh the costs by at least three-and-a-half times. The study concluded that a 50-percent cut in America's security commitments could reduce the country's bilateral trade, excluding that with Canada and Mexico, by over 570 billion U.S. dollars a year, or roughly 18 percent of the total. The RAND Corporation was commissioned to publish a report titled, “War with China: Thinking Through the Unthinkable,” in which it describes its assessment of possible war between the US and China in the Pacific in both 2015 and in 2025.
The report’s introduction summarised its findings, stating:
Premeditated war between the United States and China is very unlikely, but the danger that a mishandled crisis could trigger hostilities cannot be ignored. Thus, while neither state wants war, both states’ militaries have plans to fight one. As Chinese anti-access and area-denial (A2AD) capabilities improve, the United States can no longer be so certain that war would follow its plan and lead to decisive victory. This analysis illuminates various paths a war with China could take and their possible consequences.
The report makes an attractive concession to possible Chinese politicians and business leaders (and their counterparts throughout the rest of Asia) who may read the report and be tempted to take it at face value, claiming that war with China, even today, would be costly for the US, and that the window of opportunity for a decisive victory over China will likely be closed come 2025.
However, the report also claims that:
Both sides would suffer large military losses in a severe conflict. In 2015, U.S. losses could be a relatively small fraction of forces committed, but still significant; Chinese losses could be much heavier than U.S. losses and a substantial fraction of forces committed.
The publicly available paper appears to be an attempt to accomplish two things. First, it attempts to play down the possibility of a premeditated US first-strike on Chinese forces, simply because for a first-strike to be most effective, it would be best done when completely unexpected.
Second, it is an attempt to temper Chinese ambitions in the region driven by increasing Chinese military strength, and may represent an effort to convince some among China’s leadership to take a more conciliatory approach, accommodating a continued US presence and role in the region, rather than fully displacing it. In other words, it is a veiled threat, attempting to coerce Chinese decision makers to forego what is otherwise the inevitable expulsion of US influence from the region.

In a recent report, the Rand Corporation said the economic benefits of the United States' military footprint outweigh the costs by at least three-and-a-half times.
The study concluded that a 50-percent cut in America's security commitments could reduce the country's bilateral trade, excluding that with Canada and Mexico, by over 570 billion U.S. dollars a year, or roughly 18 percent of the total.

Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) was the Cold War military organization of Army, Navy, and USAF air defense commands for the Continental United States. The first U.S. component of NORAD, the unified command's anti-aircraft defenses included Army Project Nike missiles (Ajax and Hercules) and USAF interceptors (manned aircraft and BOMARC missiles). CONAD had operational control of nuclear air defense weapons such as the 10 kiloton W-40 nuclear warhead on the CIM-10B BOMARC, but the primary purpose of continental air defense during the CONAD period was to provide sufficient attack warning of a Soviet bomber air raid to ensure Strategic Air Command could launch a counterattack without being destroyed. While the SAFEGUARD anti-ICBM missile complex was being deployed, the CONAD ended in 1975 and the USAF component, Aerospace Defense Command, became the US's executive organization for US NORAD operations...
CONAD was established effective September 1, 1954, with the mission "of (1) defending the continental United States against air attack and (2) supporting CINCPAC, CINCLANT, CINCARIB, COMSAC (Commander Strategic Air Command), CINCAL (Alaskan Command), and CINCNE in their missions to the maximum extent consistent with its primary mission." ADC's commander—General Benjamin Chidlaw--"became the first CINCONAD", USAF was "designated the executive agency", and CONAD's "operational control" was for:
- Direction of the tactical air battle
- Control of fighters
- Specifying the alert condition
- Stationing early warning units
- Deploying combat units of the command.
After the Experimental SAGE Subsector received a prototype IBM computer in July 1955 for development of a "national air defense network", a late 1955 "CONAD plan for [USAF] SAGE control of [Army] Nike missiles" caused an interservice dispute (in 1956 SECDEF approved CONAD's plan for USAF units at computerized Army nuclear bunkers[18]--the 1959 Missile Master Plan resolved the dispute to have separate Hercules missile command posts in the bunkers.) On February 13, 1956, CINCONAD advocated "an eventual combined organization…of the Air Defense Force of all countries and services in and adjacent to North America" (CONAD's December 1956 CADOP 56-66 requested "six prime and 41 gap-tiller radars [to be] located in Mexoo.) By 1956, CONAD had designated 3 "SAC Base Complexes" (geographical areas) for defense in the Northwestern United States, in a Montana-through-North Dakota area, and the largest in a nearly-triangular "South Central Area" from Minnesota to New Mexico to Northern Florida...
SECDEF assigned to CONAD on November 7, 1960 "operational command" of the Space Detection and Tracking System (SPADATS) with SPACETRACK and NAVSPASUR sensors...
BOMARC alerts ended in 1972, and the post-Vietnam war drawdown closed most CONUS NIKE missile sites during the 1974 Project Concise, after which CONAD was disestablished on June 30, 1975, during the SAFEGUARD ABM deployment (operational October 1, 1975). The last CINCCONAD remained CINCNORAD, and ADCOM personnel manned combined NORAD/ADCOM staff organizations. Ent AFB closed in 1976, and ADCOM was broken up 1979-80 with interceptors transferring to a TAC unit at the Chidlaw Bldg, missile warning stations transferring to SAC (e.g., the new PAVE PAWS sites), electronics units transferring to AFCS, and the NORAD/ADCOM "Air Force Element" forming the new Aerospace Defense Center.
