Atul is an industrial village developed due by the company Atul Ltd, located in Valsad district of Gujarat, India. Although a small village, it has good educational and recreational facilities, banks, temples, post office and a railway station.
As of the 2001 India census, Atul has a population of 5352. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Atul has an average literacy rate of 84%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 55% of the males and 45% of females literate. 10% of the population is under 6 years of age. Atul, located on the bank of the river Par, derives its name from the Lalbhai Group owned Atul Limited.
Atul is located on Western Railway on Mumbai (Bombay)-Surat segment. It is 187 km from Mumbai Central. It is 76 km from Surat, 205 km from Vadodara (Baroda), 305 km from Ahmedabad. While coming from Mumbai, it is the previous station before Valsad.
The nearest airports are Mumbai on south (200 km) and Surat (around 80 km) & Vadodara (around 215 km) on north.
Atul Agnihotri (born 24 June 1970) is a Hindi actor and director.
Agnihorti's career stretches back to 1983 when he made a brief appearance as a child artist in Pasand Apni Apni. He started his film career as an adult in 1993 with Mahesh Bhatt's Sir. He went on to act in several other films throughout the 1990s and early 2000s with his most notable films being Krantiveer (1994),Aatish (1994) and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (2002). He made his directorial debut with the 2004 film Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa which starred his brother-in-law Salman Khan, Bhoomika Chawla, and Preity Zinta in lead roles. In 2007 he started work on his second directorial film Hello which starred his brother-in-law Sohail Khan, Isha Koppikar and Sharman Joshi and was released on 10 October 2008.
Atul is born into a hindu brahmin family.Atul is married to Alvira Khan who is scriptwriter Salim Khan's daughter. His brothers-in-law are actors Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan. His cousin is actress Rati Agnihotri. He has two children- Ayaan and Alizeh.
