Tangerine Dream." (WARNING: partial nudity, non-explicit sexual situations, vulgar language): Two competitive, testosterone-driven, longtime friends in their mid-30's,
Blue (Peter Coyote) and Eli (
Nick Mancuso), each arrive at crossroads in their lives. Set in urban
Los Angeles'
Arts District,
Blue is a painter specializing in fetishistic portraits of sexy women, usually selling his images to porn magazines but toils at a hated day job in a print shop. Blue's relationship with 5 year live-in lover Cyd (
Kathryn Harrold) is falling apart and Cyd wants out. Eli's dying father wants him to take over the family's failing women's sports wear business that has been paying for Eli's lavish "
Hollywood Hills" lifestyle. Blue is given an opportunity to have his fetish work featured in a prestigious gallery showing it as "legitimate art" if he can create enough new pieces to fill out a show. His super sexy model
Candy (Carol Wayne) has a crush on Blue to no avail but to please him,
Candy initiates a sexual threesome with Blue & his buddy Eli.
Meanwhile Blue's newly departed girlfriend Cyd brings out the jealous worst in Blue now that she is intimately seeing an artist rival of Blue's, the beefy-built
King (
Max Gail). Blue creates a hugely emabarrassing verbal & physical confrontation with King at
King's opening at the art gallery. Blue's self-destructive behavior also puts at risk his relationship with Eli who's been having an affair with Liliane (
Carole Laure), the feminist manager of the art gallery which is about to exhibit Blue's work. After a successful opening night for Blue, Liliane seduces him and they have sex right on the gallery floor with no regard for Eli's feelings. Blue later tells Eli who is hurt & furious. You'll see what happens to Blue's & Eli's longterm friendship at movie's end. Is it "
Bros before Hos" or "
The Final Curtain" on the friendship? You'll see! All movie components and musical soundtrack are copyright & property of their current respective owners, used here strictly for non-profit purposes and are pursuant to the following statement:
