The Dead is a 1987 feature film directed by John Huston, starring his daughter Anjelica Huston. The Dead was the last film that Huston directed, and it was released posthumously.
It was adapted from the short story "The Dead" by James Joyce (from his short works collection Dubliners), and nominated for an Academy Award for Writing Adapted Screenplay. It was also nominated for an Academy Award for Costume Design.
The film takes place in Dublin in 1904 at an Epiphany party held by two elderly sisters. The story focuses attention on the academic Gabriel Conroy (Donal McCann) and his discovery of his wife Gretta's (Anjelica Huston) memory of a deceased lover.
This film adaptation by John Huston's son Tony Huston can be considered a close adaptation of Joyce's short story, with some alterations made to the dialogue to aid the narrative for cinema audiences.
The most significant change to the story was the inclusion of a new character, a Mr Grace, who recites an eighth-century Middle Irish poem, "Donal Óg". The effect of this is to act as catalyst for the "Distant Music" that provokes the memories Gretta and Gabriel discuss at the end of the film.
The Dead is a 2010 British zombie film produced by Indelible Productions in association with Latitude Films and starring Rob Freeman, Prince David Osei, and David Dontoh. The film was released in 2010 and directed by the Ford brothers.
Lieutenant Brian Murphy (Freeman), a United States Air Force engineer, is the sole survivor of the final evacuative plane out of Africa, which crashes somewhere off the coast of West Africa. The previous night, a zombie horde attacked many villages throughout that area. Brian gathers supplies from the plane crash and travels by foot until he finds and fixes a broken-down truck in a village he reaches. While driving, the truck gets stuck in a pothole as zombies close in. Daniel Dembele (Osei), a local African soldier gone AWOL in search of his son, rescues Brian from certain death. Daniel's wife had been killed in a zombie attack the previous night and a local military unit, heading north to a military base, had rescued his son. Daniel agrees to lead Brian to the nearest airport, a day's drive away, in exchange for his truck upon arrival for Daniel to use to find his son. At the airport, Brian attempts radioing for help using the air traffic tower's radio, but he receives no response. Daniel gathers fuel for the truck and the two agree it would be best to stick together and attempt travel to the military base, with Daniel hoping his son is there and Brian hoping they have a plane he can repair to fly back to the United States.
Flood is the third studio album by Brooklyn-based alternative rock duo They Might Be Giants, released in January 1990. Flood was the duo's first album on the major label Elektra Records. It generated three singles: "Birdhouse in Your Soul", "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)", and the domestic promotional track "Twisting". The album is generally considered to be the band's definitive release, as it is their best-selling and most recognizable album. Despite minimal stylistic and instrumental differences from previous releases, Flood is distinguished by contributions from seasoned producers Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley. John Linnell and John Flansburgh also took advantage of new equipment and recording techniques, including unconventional, home-recorded samples, which were programmed through Casio FZ-1 synthesizers. The album was recorded in New York City at Skyline Studios, which was better equipped than studios the band had worked in previously.
Promotion for Flood included television appearances, promotional videos, and an international tour. The album's mainstream promotion and success contributed to its status as the band's most well known album. Many fans, including young viewers of Tiny Toon Adventures, were first exposed to They Might Be Giants's music through Flood.
Per Yngve Ohlin (16 January 1969 – 8 April 1991), better known by his stage name Dead, was a Swedish black/death metal vocalist and lyricist best known for his work with Norwegian black metal band Mayhem. He also performed as vocalist of the Swedish death metal band Morbid on their demo December Moon.
Roadrunner Records ranked him No. 48 out of 50 of The Greatest Metal Front-Men of All Time.
Per Ohlin (sometimes called "Pelle") was born in 1969 in Stockholm, Sweden. As a young child, he suffered from sleep apnea. At the age of ten, he suffered internal bleeding when his spleen ruptured, after what he alleged was an ice skating accident. In the Swedish metal book Blod eld död however ('Blood Fire Death', named after Swedish band Bathory's fourth album Blood Fire Death), his brother said in an exclusive interview that Dead was bullied in school and one day the beatings got out of hand causing the ruptured spleen. He had to be rushed to a hospital, where he was for a time clinically dead.
A troll is a supernatural being in Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore. In origin, troll may have been a negative synonym for a jötunn (plural jötnar). In Old Norse sources, beings described as trolls dwell in isolated rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units, and are rarely helpful to human beings.
Later, in Scandinavian folklore, trolls became beings in their own right, where they live far from human habitation, are not Christianized, and are considered dangerous to human beings. Depending on the region from which accounts of trolls stem, their appearance varies greatly; trolls may be ugly and slow-witted, or look and behave exactly like human beings, with no particularly grotesque characteristic about them.
Trolls are sometimes associated with particular landmarks, which at times may be explained as formed from a troll exposed to sunlight. Trolls are depicted in a variety of media in modern popular culture.
In Norse mythology, troll, like thurs, is a term applied to jötnar, and are mentioned throughout the Old Norse corpus. In Old Norse sources, trolls are said to dwell in isolated mountains, rocks, and caves, sometimes live together (usually as father-and-daughter or mother-and-son), and are rarely described as helpful or friendly. In the Prose Edda book Skáldskaparmál, a scenario describing an encounter between an unnamed troll woman and the 9th century skald Bragi Boddason is provided. According to the section, once, late in the evening, Bragi was driving through "a certain forest" when a troll woman aggressively asked him who he was, in the process describing herself:
Pequeño Damián 666 (real name unrevealed; born August 28, 1980) is a Mexican luchador, or professional wrestler. Pequeño Damián 666 is a part of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre's (CMLL) Mini-Estrella, or "Mini". Pequeño Damián 666 ring character is a Mini-version of wrestler Damián 666. He made his professional wrestling debut in 1997 and quickly became a part of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre's (CMLL) Mini-Estrella, or "Mini", division; working in the Mini division does not necessarily mean that Serrano is a dwarf as several short wrestlers work in the "Mini" division. Initially he worked under the ring name Mini Eskeleto (Spanish for "Mini Skeleton") and later also worked as "Troll". In 2005 he began working under the name "Pequeño Damián 666" a Mini-version of wrestler Damián 666. He often teamed with Pequeño Halloween, just like Damían 666 teamed with Halloween and become a part of Los Perritos del Mal, a Mini version of the group Los Perros del Mal, which both Damián 666 and Halloweeen were members off. Pequeño Damián 666 ended Pequeño Olímpico's almost four year run with the CMLL World Mini-Estrella Championship on November 20, 2007. Following his title win Pequeño Damián 666 began working a storyline, or feud with Bam Bam, a storyline that saw Pequeño Damián 666 get shaved bald after losing a Luchas de Apuestas, or "bet match" to Bam Bam. the storyline between the two saw Bam Bam win the CMLL World Mini-Estrella Championship on July 27, 2008. Pequeño Damián 666 got a measure of revenge on August 17, 2008, when he won a Luchas de Apuesta match against Bam Bam, leaving his opponent shaved bald after the match. On June 2, 2009, Pequeño Damián 666 lost a Luchas de Apuetas match to Shockercito, losing his hair for the second time in his career.

I've been down so long, I cannot see
Any way out of me
I live under rocks and under stones
That's where I spend my time alone
People don't know I exist
Their company is never missed
I never see the light of day
Somehow that don't bother me
Nothing ever changes
I gave up trying
Once I stuck my head above ground
I didn't like what was around
Crime, disease and poverty
All of this assaulting me
People shove as hard as they can
No one lends a helping hand
You could drop dead in the street
And they'd just laugh hysterically
Nothing ever changes
I gave up trying
Worlds may come and worlds may go
I'll just stay here down below
Bats and worms are my friends
They'll stick with me until the end
Don't want to be a part of your land
'Cause down here I am my own man
I live and hope eternally
For a world filled with peace
Nothing ever changes
I gave up trying
