These three specific units are considered the most elite & prestigious of all special forces units in the IDF. The training and selection for these 3 units is the longest, most selective, most grueling, and more extensive than any other IDF units. Their operators are proficient in long range solo navigation, as opposed to other units where long range navigation is done with a minimum of 2 fighters.
Sayeret Matkal - The IDF's principal special operations/commando unit, used mainly to obtain strategic intelligence behind enemy lines and to perform hostage-rescue missions on foreign soil. Shayetet 13 - The naval commando unit, equivalent to the US Navy SEALs or British Special Boat Service. Also tasked with maritime hostage-rescue missions. Part of the Israeli Navy. Founded in 1948 by former members of the Palyam, the naval branch of the Haganah.
Sayeret Shaldag - Founded in 1974 by several former Sayeret Matkal veterans, it is the Israeli Air Force's commando unit, specializing in forward air control, aerial & special reconnaissance, and target designation outside of Israel's borders.

But their growing population, coupled with their high unemployment rate and dependence on state benefits, sparked outrage within the country's secular majority. 軍方人士指出， IDF戰機攜帶劍二空射型飛彈，目前採用半埋方式在戰機機腹的中線，將2枚飛彈縱列掛載，劍二空射型飛彈發射的方式，是將飛彈拋落再點火，當時採用此方式係考量戰機的運動性能。
該名人士表示，空軍規劃IDF戰機「翔展專案」性能提升案，是從原來短程空優戰機構型，轉型為聯合反制載台，因此漢翔公司針對空軍提出的戰機任務電腦的飛控軟體，改良電子反反制裝置、電戰系統、先進敵我識別系統，與地貌追隨模式與雷達系統，包括空對空、空對地雷達，都擴充與加強功能，以符合戰機執行對地攻擊任務的需求。
在強化部分機體結構後，對於戰機掛載對空、對地各式飛彈，也進行了運動性能的測試，都能符合空軍作戰的需求，因此配置上發射各式飛彈的滑軌裝備後，除了配掛「神斧專案」的萬劍彈，空軍也規劃在今年以代號「奔劍計畫」進行劍二空射型飛彈的性能提升。
據指出，性能提升後的劍二空射型飛彈，因具備滑軌發射的能力，可在機翼兩測分掛2枚，IDF戰機可以掛載的中程空對空飛彈數量增加到4枚；由於電子技術的進步與微量化，再加上飛彈燃料與炸藥效能的提升，劍二空射型飛彈的有效射程也從原有的40公里增加到60公里以上，更能符合未來戰場的需求。

The stated aim of the Israeli operation was to stop rocket fire from Gaza into Israel, which increased after an Israeli crackdown on Hamas in the West Bank was launched following the 12 June kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers by two Hamas members. Conversely, Hamas's goal was to bring international pressure to bear to lift Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip, end Israel's offensive, release Palestinian prisoners and overcome its political isolation, after, it is claimed, Israel was the first, on 13 June, to break the ceasefire agreement with Hamas that had been in place since November 2012. The operation officially began the following day, and on 17 July, the operation was expanded to an Israeli ground invasion of Gaza with the stated aim of destroying Gaza's tunnel system; Israeli ground forces withdrew on 5 August. On 26 August, an open-ended ceasefire was announced. By that date, the IDF reported that Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other militant groups had fired 4,564 rockets and mortars from Gaza into Israel, with over 735 intercepted in flight and shot down by Iron Dome. Most Gazan mortar and rocket fire hit open land, more than 280 fell on areas in Gaza, and 224 struck residential areas. Militant rocketry also killed 13 Gazan civilians, 11 of them children.The IDF attacked 5,263 targets in Gaza; at least 34 known tunnels were destroyed and two-thirds of Hamas's 10,000-rocket arsenal was used up or destroyed. These three specific units are considered the most elite & prestigious of all special forces units in the IDF. The training and selection for these 3 units is the longest, most selective, most grueling, and more extensive than any other IDF units. Their operators are proficient in long range solo navigation, as opposed to other units where long range navigation is done with a minimum of 2 fighters. Most Gazan mortar and rocket fire hit open land, more than 280 fell on areas in Gaza, and 224 struck residential areas. Militant rocketry also killed 13 Gazan civilians, 11 of them children.The IDF attacked 5,263 targets in Gaza; at least 34 known tunnels were destroyed and two-thirds of Hamas's 10,000-rocket arsenal was used up or destroyed.

Roey, a special forces (669) fighter and officer, and his big brother, who served in the Sayeret Matkal and Yamam (Israeli best Elite anti terror units), have founded The Pathway- the way to significant Israeli military service.
The Pathway is an educational organization which is based on amplifying the inner strength, the love of Israel, dealing with mental and physical challenges, not only for the IDF but to a way of life as well.
