X is the twenty-fourth letter of the Latin alphabet.
X may also refer to:
X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men (commonly known as Pryde of the X-Men) is an animated television pilot originally broadcast in 1989 on the Marvel Action Universe television block, featuring Marvel Comics’ mutant superheroes the X-Men. The pilot aired infrequently in syndication, and was later released on video. It later served as the basis for Konami's X-Men arcade game.
The title is a pun on the name of Kitty Pryde, the youngest of the X-Men. The series for which this episode was intended to launch never materialized; Marvel Productions would have to go back to the drawing board for 1992’s X-Men. Funding for this pilot actually came from the budget for RoboCop: The Animated Series. Instead of making a 13th episode of RoboCop, Marvel Productions decided to use their funding to have Toei Animation produce the animation for this pilot. The pilot itself is most specifically influenced by issues #129-139 of Uncanny X-Men.
Shortly after this pilot was delivered, Marvel started having financial issues (New World Pictures, who purchased the Marvel Entertainment Group or MEG from Cadence Industries in 1986, sold MEG in January 1989 to the Andrews Group) and stopped work on just about everything but Muppet Babies. This pilot effectively marked the end of the Marvel animated universe created by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises/Marvel Productions, which began with Fantastic Four (1978) and continued with Spider-Woman (1979), Spider-Man (1981), Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (1981) and The Incredible Hulk (1982). The X-Men themselves had previously guest starred in several episodes of Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, although that particular series isn't necessarily in the same continuity as "Pryde of the X-Men".
A man is a male human. The term man is usually reserved for an adult male, with the term boy being the usual term for a male child or adolescent. However, the term man is also sometimes used to identify a male human, regardless of age, as in phrases such as "men's basketball".
Like most other male mammals, a man's genome typically inherits an X chromosome from his mother and a Y chromosome from his father. The male fetus produces larger amounts of androgens and smaller amounts of estrogens than a female fetus. This difference in the relative amounts of these sex steroids is largely responsible for the physiological differences that distinguish men from women. During puberty, hormones which stimulate androgen production result in the development of secondary sexual characteristics, thus exhibiting greater differences between the sexes. However, there are exceptions to the above for some intersex and transgender men.
The English term "man" is derived from a Proto-Indo-European root *man- (see Sanskrit/Avestan manu-, Slavic mǫž "man, male"). More directly, the word derives from Old English mann. The Old English form had a default meaning of "adult male" (which was the exclusive meaning of wer), though it could also signify a person of unspecified gender. The closely related Old English pronoun man was used just as it is in Modern German to designate "one" (e. g., in the saying man muss mit den Wölfen heulen). The Old English form is derived from Proto-Germanic *mannz, "human being, person", which is also the etymon of German Mann "man, husband" and man "one" (pronoun), Old Norse maðr, and Gothic manna. According to Tacitus, the mythological progenitor of the Germanic tribes was called Mannus. *Manus in Indo-European mythology was the first man, see Mannus, Manu (Hinduism).
The X-Men are a fictional team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby, the characters first appeared in The X-Men #1 (September 1963). They are among the most recognizable and successful intellectual properties of Marvel Comics, appearing in numerous books, television shows, films, and video games.
The X-Men are mutants, a subspecies of humans who are born with superhuman abilities. The X-Men fight for peace and equality between normal humans and mutants in a world where antimutant bigotry is fierce and widespread. They are led by Charles Xavier, also known as Professor X, a powerful mutant telepath who can control and read minds. Their archenemy is Magneto, a powerful mutant with the ability to generate and control magnetic fields. Professor X and Magneto have opposing views and philosophies regarding the relationship between mutants and humans. While Professor X works towards peace and understanding between mutants and humans, Magneto views humans as a threat and believes in taking an aggressive approach against them, though he has found himself working alongside the X-Men from time to time.
Katherine Anne "Kitty" Pryde is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with the X-Men. The character first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #129 (January 1980) and was co-created by writer-artist John Byrne and Chris Claremont.
A mutant, Pryde possesses a "phasing" ability that allows her and objects or people with which she is in contact to become intangible. This power also disrupts any electrical field she passes through, and lets her simulate levitation.
Storm christened Kitty with her first code name, Sprite. Professor X had also suggested the codename Ariel, which Kitty adopted for a short time prior to adopting the codename Shadowcat. After joining the Guardians of the Galaxy she replaced her fiancée and became part of the legend of the Star-Lord. Pryde was the youngest person invited to join the team of mutant superheroes the X-Men.
During her early years, she was portrayed as a "kid sister" to many older members of the X-Men, filling the role of literary foil to the more established characters. In the years since her introduction, she has aged and matured, and has become a main character on her own.

In 1989, Marvel had the brilliant idea of making a more serious X-Men animated series. The concept was that the show would be closer to the content in the comic books. The final result was 1992′s X-Men animated series, but not before another version of the show was piloted. Let me tell you, Nuggeteers: It was flipping awesome. The pilot episode titled "Pryde of the X-Men" was based on issues #129-139 of Uncanny X-Men. It got a lot of mixed reviews for various reasons, BUT it had some incredibly lasting impressions and was superior in a few ways to the final version of the X-Men animated series.

Welcome Friends. This is the intro sequence to the 1989 pilot, "Pryde of the X-men" produced by Marvel Entertainment Group, Inc. As you may or may not know this pilot didn't lead to a hoped animated show as such. However, a few years later the X-men animated series was given another go. Possibly because of the 'buzz' surrounding this production. Enjoy and go to your local retailer and check out some of these nostalgic cartoons!!!

Yes, it's time for something popular from my memories, but a little different than most people do it (since there are most likely millions of reviews of this show on the internet). In this episode, I spend a lot of time going over Morph's character arc on the series, as well as describing his comic book origins; as Morph was my favorite character. I also go over the DVD release, and how they don't show what I remember of them because I grew up with the episode premiere that was full of errors, as well as the original TV Pilot "Pryde of the X-Men" and it's arcade game. There's a quick look at episodes I remember and spin-offs that were done (comics based on cartoons based on comics, for example), and even information about the air dates versus the story order. Andato in onda nel 1989 e basato sui famosi personaggi dei fumetti Marvel Comics, "L'audacia degli X-Men" ("Pryde of the X-Men") nasce come episodio pilota di una serie a cartoni animati che però non verrà mai realizzata, a causa delle forti critiche piovute sul pilota stesso. Tuttavia, dalle ceneri di questo progetto, nascerà la serie del 1992 "Insuperabili X-Men" ("X-Men").
The storyline alternates between the present year of 1980 and the future year of 2013. In the future, Sentinels rule a dystopian United States, and mutants are hunted and placed in internment camps. Having conquered North America and hunted all mutants and other superhumans, the Sentinels are turning their attention to the rest of the world. On the eve of a feared nuclear holocaust, the few remaining X-Men send Kitty Pryde's mind backward through time, to possess the body of her younger self and to prevent a pivotal event in mutant–human history and the cause of these events: the assassination of Senator Robert Kelly by Mystique's newly reassembled Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Working with the present-day X-Men, Kitty Pryde's future self succeeds in her mission and is pulled back to her o...

X-Men is meant to be social commentary. I had no idea NASA had laser-shooting shuttles! Originally uploaded March 8th, 2010. NOTE: The original ending song has been removed for copyright reasons. RUMINATIONS: Not much to say about this episode. The "Professor Xavier interviewed for his expenses" thing would appear another time or two, mostly because I find bureaucracy, particularly in an otherworldly environment where one doesn't consider it, to be hilarious, though that's just me. Beyond that, it was just for my own curiosity - I wanted to see if the comic was legitimately worth how many people had purchased it at the time. We've also got some more continuity alarm, long before I realized that people actually WANTED me to talk about excessive continuity and the thing just became kind o...

Don't play football
We play Fenders
We chop fish in kitchen blenders
We're a disgrace to our gender
We're the men!
Always together night and day
It makes our girlfriends think we're gay
But who needs women when you've got friends?
We're the men!
The men will never let me down
The men will always be around
The men won't argue, scratch, or fight
The men won't say, "I've got a headache tonight"!
On Friday night we'll all jump in a car
And blow all our money at a go-go bar
Sober up for a week to do it over again because
We're the men!
We're twenty-one, but we act like we're ten
We're as immature as we've ever been
Maybe we'll grow up, but I don't know when because
We're the men!
We'll get together
Drink together
Sweat together
Stink together
Laugh together
Cry together
Live together
And die together!
