Foster's Home For Children is on the road to recovery after a tornado tore through the non-profit's Stephenville campus.

"Right around 7 o’clock the storm came through, no warning, no sires there wasn’t any detection of rotation, I guess there wasn’t any warning to give, and in about 30 seconds it was through and gone," said President and CEO Glenn Newberry.

The non-profit provides residential group care, foster family care and adoption.  Currently, 48 children live on Foster's Home campus in one of twelve housing facilities. They were evacuated after the storm hit and taken to Camp Crucis in nearby Granbury, TX for three days, according to Newberry.

"Some had fun in Granbury - they got to do a lot of things, others were just ready to get back to campus," said Newberry, "one thing about the kids we have in our care, the one thing they need more than anything is consistency and stablility, to know what’s going to happen next and this really threw a major wrench in any kind of predictability; we had to uproot them, they had maybe 10 minutes to load clothes in a car and leave for three days."

Crews, including volunteers, worked to make the area safe, but removing downed trees from up against buildings, and trashing metal from roofs and buildings.
