Osaka Castle A Japanese castle in Chuo-ku. One of Japan's most famous and it played a major role in the unification of Japan during the sixteenth century of the Azuchi-Momoyama period. The castle grounds, which cover approximately 60,000 square meters (15 acres), contain thirteen structures. 02. Universal Studios Japan One of four Universal Studios theme parks. Opened on March 31, 2001. The attractions are arranged in ten areas. In 2011, USJ's Christmas tree was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most illuminated Christmas tree in the world having 260,498 lights. 03. Umeda Sky Building Two 40-story towers that connect at their two uppermost stories, with bridges and an escalator crossing the wide atrium-like space in the center. Has a height of 112.5 metres (369 ft) and diameter of 100 metres (330 ft). Opened to the public on July 12, 1997. as colored lights that provide a weather forecast for the next day: orange - a sunny day, green - a cloudy day and blue - rain. 07. Shitenno-ji A Buddhist temple. Prince Shotoku invited three Korean Baekje carpenters, and they constructed this temple in 593. The first Buddhist and oldest officially administered temple in Japan. Sells some souvenirs of their products on the 21st of each month. 08. Tennoji Zoo A zoo opened on January 1, 1915. Nagai Botanical Garden A botanical garden in the southeast corner of Nagai Park. Osaka Science Museum A science museum in Naka-no-shima. Opened in 1989, the museum was constructed to mark the 100th anniversary of Osaka City. Permanent exhibition consists of 4 floors of mainly interactive science exhibits, totaling 200 items, with each floor focusing on a different theme.
