1. Let's do it!
He was born in Yakima, Washington. The Rohns owned and worked a farm in Caldwell, Idaho, where Jim grew up as an only child.
2. Ask for adventure
He started his professional life by working as a stock clerk for department store Sears.
3. Work on yourself
His friend invited him to a lecture given by entrepreneur John Earl Shoaff, and he joined his direct selling business AbundaVita as a distributor.
4. Have a purpose
He joined Nutri-Bio in 1957, another direct selling company. It was at this point that the company's founders, started to mentor him.
5. You've got to dream
After this mentorship, Rohn built one of the largest organizations in the company.
6. Never give up
In 1960 when Nutri-Bio expanded into Canada, Shoaff and the other founders selected Rohn as a vice president for the organization.
7. Rely on yourself
After Nutri-Bio went out of business in the early 1960s, Rohn was invited to speak at a meeting of his Rotary Club.
8. Learn from other people
In 1963 at the Beverly Hills Hotel, he gave his first public seminar. He then began presenting seminars all over the country.
9. Say "Enough is Enough!"
He mentored Mark R. Hughes and motivational speaker Tony Robbins in the late 1970s.
10. Think rich
He was the recipient of the 1985 National Speakers Association CPAE Award for excellence in speaking.

Jim Rohn (September 17, 1930 - December 5, 2009) was an American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker. His rags to riches story played a large part in his work, which influenced others in the personal development industry.
Emanuel James "Jim" Rohn was born in Yakima, Washington to Emanuel and Clara Rohn. The Rohns owned and worked a farm in Caldwell, Idaho where Jim grew up, as an only child.
Jim graduated from high school 3rd out of a class of 140. He went to college for a year and a half before dropping out and joining the work force. At age 25, according to his accounts, he was working as a stock clerk for Sears collecting a weekly $57 paycheck. He wasn't broke but struggling financially, unable to see a way that would lead to his personal ambitions.[citation needed] Around this time, a friend invited him to a lecture given by John Earl Shoaff, an entrepreneur who impressed Rohn with his wealth, business accomplishments, charisma, and life philosophy. At that time, Shoaff was VP of Sales in a nutritional supplement company called AbundaVita. In October 1955, Rohn joined AbundaVita and began a process of personal development that culminated in his becoming a millionaire by age 31. Shoaff, who had challenged Rohn at age 25 to reach for this goal, died one year before Rohn achieved it at age 31.

1. Let's do it!
He was born in Yakima, Washington. The Rohns owned and worked a farm in Caldwell, Idaho, where Jim grew up as an only child.
2. Ask for adventure
He started his professional life by working as a stock clerk for department store Sears.
3. Work on yourself
His friend invited him to a lecture given by entrepreneur John Earl Shoaff, and he joined his direct selling business AbundaVita as a distributor.
4. Have a purpose
He joined Nutri-Bio in 1957, another direct selling company. It was at this point that the company's founders, started to mentor him.
5. You've got to dream
After this mentorship, Rohn built one of the largest organizations in the company.
6. Never give up
In 1960 when Nutri-Bio expanded into Canada, Shoaff and the other founders selected Rohn as a vice president for the organization.
7. Rely on yourself
After Nutri-Bio went out of business in the early 1960s, Rohn was invited to speak at a meeting of his Rotary Club.
8. Learn from other people
In 1963 at the Beverly Hills Hotel, he gave his first public seminar. He then began presenting seminars all over the country.
9. Say "Enough is Enough!"
He mentored Mark R. Hughes and motivational speaker Tony Robbins in the late 1970s.
10. Think rich
He was the recipient of the 1985 National Speakers Association CPAE Award for excellence in speaking.

In this video I talked about how to step into a situation where you have to have a planned conversation with someone, and be able to take full control of the situation with confidence..
I gave a perfect example of when I went in for a rank advancement at my old job.. essentially I went in for another Job Interview.. The outcome was great, because I prepared well for it.. I did what Dale Carnegie says which is to Visualize the situation at hand before you actually go into it, and rehearse it a little bit in your mind..
