The Trevi Fountain (Italian: Fontana di Trevi) is a fountain in the Trevi district in Rome, Italy, designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Pietro Bracci. Standing 26.3 metres (86 ft) high and 49.15 metres (161.3 ft) wide, it is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world. The fountain has appeared in several notable films, including Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita.
The fountain at the junction of three roads (tre vie) marks the terminal point of the "modern" Acqua Vergine, the revived Aqua Virgo, one of the aqueducts that supplied water to ancient Rome. In 19 BC, supposedly with the help of a virgin, Roman technicians located a source of pure water some 13 km (8.1 mi) from the city. (This scene is presented on the present fountain's façade.) However, the eventual indirect route of the aqueduct made its length some 22 km (14 mi). This Aqua Virgo led the water into the Baths of Agrippa. It served Rome for more than 400 years.
The Palazzo Poli is a palace in Rome, Italy, forming the backdrop to the famous Trevi Fountain. Luigi Vanvitelli gave it a monumental facade as a setting for the fountain. It was there that Princess Zinaida Volkonskaya threw her lavish parties in the 1830s. The central portion of the palace was demolished to provide room for the large fountain in 1730. The Palazzo Poli houses an important collection of copper engraving plates from the 16th century to the present. The Palazzo also houses the Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica.

Trevi is the name of at least four places in Italy:
Trevi may also refer to:
Nicola Salvi or Niccolò Salvi (6 August 1697 (Rome) – 8 February 1751 (Rome)) was an Italian architect; among his few projects completed is the famous Trevi fountain in Rome, Italy.
Admitted to the Roman Academy of Arcadia in 1717, Salvi became an architect only after studies in mathematics and philosophy. His mentor in architecture was Antonio Canevari, who served also as consulting architect of the king of Portugal. In 1728, Canevari left for Lisbon, and Salvi continued his commissions in Rome. Among these were ephemeral decorations and small decorative projects. In Rome, the patronage for building of large structures had declined relative to the past century.
In 1732, competitions were held by Clement XII, for two large projects. One was to create a new façade for the church of St John the Lateran and another was for a public fountain at Trevi. The former completion was won by Alessandro Galilei, though Salvi’s design had much praise. Salvi’s design for the fountain however was chosen instead of plans by Ferdinando Fuga and his friend Luigi Vanvitelli. Salvi did not live to see the fountain completed by his friend Pietro Bracci.

The Trevi Fountain is the largest baroque fountain in the city, and it is one of the most famous fountains in the whole world. A fountain at this location was originally designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini in 1692 under Pope Urban VIII, but was never competed due to the Pope's death. Nicola Salvi began work on a new fountain in 1732, however he died in 1751 with the fountain unfinished. Pietro Bracci completed the fountain in in 1762 setting the imperious Oceanus (god of water) and his shell chariot. The tritons and horses provide symmetrical balance. This is a perfect example of the Rococco (late Baroque style) taste for dramatic theatrical effects. This fountain grosses 120,000 euros per year in tossed coins.

The Fontana di Trevi or Trevi Fountain is the most famous and arguably the most beautiful fountain in all of Rome. This impressive monument dominates the small Trevi square located in the Quirinale district. In 1732, Pope Clement XII commissioned Nicola Salvi to create a large fountain at the Trevi Square. A previous undertaking to build the fountain after a design by Bernini was halted a century earlier after the death of Pope Urban VIII. Salvi based his theatrical The restive sea horse masterpiece on this design. Construction of the monumental Baroque fountain was finally completed in 1762.

I did not see
I did not hear
I did not feel while you were gone
My blood was cold, I was a stone
You were my own, while you were gone
Because you are my beating heart
You are the reason why I breathe
these are the things I realized
While you were gone
Something is wrong
inside my brain
and then my eyes start to complain
Time slows right down, my days drag on
Don't want to live, when you are gone
Because you are my beating heart
You are the reason why I breathe
these are the things I realized
While you were gone
