We were all shocked about his sudden passage last week.
Muna Obiekwe’s death has touched the hearts of many and some fans cried throughout the day they heard about his death. That was how close a relation he had forged with fans through excellent acting, thus captivating minds in the process.
Muna passed away on January 18th 2015. He was found bleeding in his apartment by a popular singer and rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately died in the car on the way and announced death by doctors upon reaching the hospital.
Muna is the nephew of popular nollywood actor Pete Edochie who has been grieving his death, and the first cousin of Nollywood actors Linc and Yul Edochie who are both sons of Pete Edochie.
We all dearly miss him.

Yes, it's true! Actor Muna Obiekwe has died. He died this afternoon around 4:15pm in a hospital in Lagos after a battle with kidney failure. He was rushed to the hospital today after he collapsed at his home. Muna has been quietly battling this kidney disease but kept it hush hush from friends and colleagues. So Sad! A colleague said for over two weeks before he died didn't go for his dialysis. Muna needed money for his health problems but instead of going public to raise money, he told friends he was planning a stage play to raise money but died before he could do it. Unbelievably sad! We were all shocked about his sudden passage last week.
Muna Obiekwe’s death has touched the hearts of many and some fans cried throughout the day they heard about his death. That was how close a relation he had forged with fans through excellent acting, thus captivating minds in the process.
Muna passed away on January 18th 2015. He was found bleeding in his apartment by a popular singer and rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately died in the car on the way and announced death by doctors upon reaching the hospital.
Muna is the nephew of popular nollywood actor Pete Edochie who has been grieving his death, and the first cousin of Nollywood actors Linc and Yul Edochie who are both sons of Pete Edochie.
We all dearly miss him.

Yes, it's true! Actor Muna Obiekwe has died. He died this afternoon around 4:15pm in a hospital in Lagos after a battle with kidney failure. He was rushed to the hospital today after he collapsed at his home.
Muna has been quietly battling this kidney disease but kept it hush hush from friends and colleagues. So Sad! A colleague said for over two weeks before he died didn't go for his dialysis.
Muna needed money for his health problems but instead of going public to raise money, he told friends he was planning a stage play to raise money but died before he could do it. Unbelievably sad!
Meanwhile, there's some twitter handle called @MunaObiekwe that's denying his death. That is not Muna! Unfortunately the real one is gone. Unbelievable! RIP to a great actor!

What You Don't Know About Late Muna Obiekwe
After his death, investigation reveals Muna discovered his kidney problem a long time ago but like most people, he thought he could manage it.
“Everybody in the industry knows Muna drinks a lot; even when he’s shooting in the North, he has a way of finding alcohol,” a Nollywood source told us. he could drink the whole sea but when he hears the director shout ‘action,’ he gets into character.
“The guy was private. He kept to himself a lot and most importantly, kept his private life private. He didn’t want press or his colleagues to start prying. He was particularly afraid of the press, hence his shutting his colleagues out of his pain. He knew if some Nollywood people got to know about it, the press would also get to know. He refused to beg to save Nollywood’s image, he in-turn, lost himself.”
Many people did not know he was married with two children.
Sources say his wife and children are based abroad.
Muna is also the first cousin of Yul Edochie, that makes him a member of Pete Edochie’s family.
He was also one of the three busiest actors in Nollywood.
Muna in his lifetime was not devoid of controversies.In 2011 it was reported by Nigeriafilms that that the actor fathered a child with Treasure Daniels(one of the shocking look alike twin of the Gholden Girlz fame) who recently meandered into music.”It seems however that the information was never confirmed and remained rumours till the date.
