Mandvi is a city and a Municipality in Kachchh district in the Indian state of Gujarat. It was once a major port of the region and summer retreat for Maharao (king) of the Kachchh. The old city had a surrounding fort, and remains of the fort wall can still be seen to this day. The city has a more than four hundred year old ship building industry that still manufactures small ships.
Mandvi is a port city located at 22°49′N 69°22′E / 22.81°N 69.36°E / 22.81; 69.36 where the Rukmavati River meets the Gulf of Kachchh. It is about 56 km south of the regional capital, Bhuj. It is approximately 446 km from the major Gujarati city of Ahmedabad. Because Mandvi has no rail transport, the nearest public airport and train station is Bhuj.
Mandvi houses a population of about 45,000 people, mainlyBrahmkshatriya (Hindu Khatri), Bhatias, Lohanas, Kharvas, Dawoodi Bohra,Muslims(Memon, Khatri, Sumara, etc.) and Jains (kandoi), Gurjar Kshatriyas.
Mandvi is a unique town which captures the true Gujarat, Kutchi culture. Mandvi also incorporates the neighbouring villages of Nagalpur and Moti Rayan. Mandvi is a town of merchants and seamen, both mutually benefiting from each other.

Aasif Hakim Mandviwala (born March 5, 1966), known professionally as Aasif Mandvi (English pronunciation: /ˈɑːsɨf ˈmɑːndviː/), is an Indian-American actor and comedian. He began appearing as an occasional contributing correspondent on The Daily Show on August 9, 2006. On March 12, 2007, he was promoted to a regular correspondent.
Mandvi was born in Bombay (now Mumbai), India, to a Muslim family. His family moved to Bradford, England, when he was one year old. He emigrated with his family to Tampa, Florida, USA, when he was 16. After graduating from the University of South Florida with a degree in Theatre, Mandvi worked as a performer at Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World Resort. He later moved to New York City where he began appearing in off-Broadway productions. During this time he also was active in the band Cowboys and Indian. He won an Obie Award for his critically acclaimed one-man show Sakina's Restaurant.
On Broadway, Mandvi appeared as Ali Hakim in the 2002 revival of Oklahoma! directed by Trevor Nunn. He also appeared in the play Homebody/Kabul by Tony Kushner. He portrayed Fritz Haber in the off-Broadway play Einstein's Gift.

Thomas Jacob "Jack" Black (born August 28, 1969) is an American comedian, actor and musician. He makes up one half of the comedy and satirical rock duo Tenacious D. The group has three albums as well as a television series and a film. His acting career is extensive, starring primarily as bumbling, cocky, but internally self-conscious outsiders in comedy films. He was a member of the Frat Pack, a group of comedians who have appeared together in several Hollywood films, and has been nominated for a Golden Globe award. He has also won an MTV Movie Award, and a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award as well as hosting the 2006, 2008, and 2011 Kids Choice Awards.
Black was born in Santa Monica, California, the son of two satellite engineers, Judith (née Cohen), who worked on the Hubble Space Telescope, and Thomas William Black. His mother is Jewish and his father converted to Judaism (Black attended Hebrew school). On The Tonight Show, he said his surname may have come from the occupational name Blacksmith. Black's parents divorced when he was 10; Black moved to Culver City with his father and frequently visited his mother’s home. As a child, Black appeared in a commercial for the Activision game Pitfall! in 1982, which was later shown during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and again on The Tonight Show with Conan O' Brien. When Black entered high school, his parents enrolled him at the Poseidon School, a private secondary school engineered specifically for students struggling in the traditional school system. Black also attended the Crossroads School, where he excelled in drama. He later attended UCLA but dropped out during his sophomore year to pursue a career in entertainment, at which point his father discontinued his financial support.[citation needed] Fellow UCLA alumnus Tim Robbins later cast Black in Bob Roberts. He also had recurring roles on the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show.

This is the first of a series of videos made on our Gujarat Trip. We covered many places in Gujarat. This part covers our journey starting from Vadodara. We visited the wild ass sanctuary at Dasada near Ahmadabad then proceeded to Bhuj via Bhachau. From Bhuj we went to Kala Dungar or Kalo Dungar. We visited the wild ass sanctuary at Dasada near Ahmadabad then proceeded to Bhuj via Bhachau. From Bhuj we went to Kala Dungar or Kalo Dungar. The next part would continue from where this part ends and will highlight the white desert at Rann of Kutch and many other places.

Morbi is a buzzing little industrial town in the Kathiawar peninsula of Gujarat, India. The Famous for it's a clocks, CFLs and ceramic tiles. A river called Macchu runs in between the town. On one end of the river is a statue of an elegant-looking man riding a horse: Wagh Ji II, the erstwhile ruler of Morbi, and for all practical purposes, its patron-saint. Any time, day or night, there is someone worshipping his statue, asking for a wish to be fulfilled.
The royal history is a little dusty. Many footprints, Wagh Ji II was a shepherd's son adopted by the Jadeja Rajput king. Not caste, not bloodline, but the grace of God made him worthy of the kingdom. Some others say he was a farmer's son. Many others don't believe in the story of adoption. But almost 150 years since Wagh Ji's reign, all agree he was blessed.
A Maharaja must inhabit various level of this world, patal lok (nether world) included. They say the Sanjivani Vidya, the secret of renewal and regeneration, lies there. Wagh Ji is underground life and surang, a secret tunnel that connected him to Mani.
The king had four queens -- daughters of the Thakore Sahibs of Palitana, Sayla, Tharad, Chuda. Each queen brought with herself an agreement with her father's kingdom -- economic, political ties and a robust dowry. Palitana queen's dowry, however, included a special little jewel, a young maid named Mani.

Darbargadh Palace in Morbi city of Gujarat State. This is a great palace but you have visit than permission is king of Morbi.
its is a buzzing little industrial town in the Kathiawar peninsula of Gujarat, India. The Famous for it's a clocks, CFLs and ceramic tiles. A river called Macchu runs in between the town. On one end of the river is a statue of an elegant-looking man riding a horse: Wagh Ji II, the erstwhile ruler of Morbi, and for all practical purposes, its patron-saint. Any time, day or night, there is someone worshipping his statue, asking for a wish to be fulfilled.
The royal history is a little dusty. Many footprints, Wagh Ji II was a shepherd's son adopted by the Jadeja Rajput king. Not caste, not bloodline, but the grace of God made him worthy of the kingdom. Some others say he was a farmer's son. Many others don't believe in the story of adoption. But almost 150 years since Wagh Ji's reign, all agree he was blessed.
A Maharaja must inhabit various level of this world, patal lok (nether world) included. They say the Sanjivani Vidya, the secret of renewal and regeneration, lies there. Wagh Ji is underground life and surang, a secret tunnel that connected him to Mani.
The king had four queens -- daughters of the Thakore Sahibs of Palitana, Sayla, Tharad, Chuda. Each queen brought with herself an agreement with her father's kingdom -- economic, political ties and a robust dowry. Palitana queen's dowry, however, included a special little jewel, a young maid named Mani.
