Ex law minister resigns from BJP to re-join Congress
TNN | Mar 14, 2016, 08.45 AM ISTVadodara: Udesinh Baria, a former Congress veteran from Halol, has quit the BJP. Baria, who had served as a law minister in 1994-95, will return to the Congress next week. After losing in assembly elections in 2002 and 2007, he had joined BJP in 2011.
In a letter addressed to Vijay Rupani, Gujarat BJP president, Baria has blamed failure of the Anandiben Patel government as a reason behind his decision.
"After Modi left, the state has witnessed rapid commercialization of education, black marketers are having a field day and nobody is listening to the pleas of farmers and those from reserved categories like SC, ST and OBC," Baria has alleged in his letter. He claimed that he had written letters to Anandiben and Prime Minister describing the disturbing situation in the state but the situation hasn't improved.
Baria, five-time Congress MLA from Halol had also served as deputy leader of opposition in Gujarat assembly, member of the All India Congress Committee and Baroda Gujarat Gramin Bank board of director . TNN
