Mixing up the bonuses a bit! We'll start with the costumes!
Seeing as most of these are mere aesthetic changes, I don't feel the need to show them ALL off in-game. Too much editing! Considering every other time I record
Bayo 2 I get issues, I don't want to push my luck!
First off, the accessories for weapons!
Rakshasa gives Bayo some Indian-flavored clothing, with her donning a veil for her face and showing her midriff! For her hammer she sadly doesn't dress like
MC Hammer, but instead
...ribbons and some kind of tiara. I'm not
100% sure just what that might be referencing.
I...totally forgot to show Chernabog's accessory, didn't I? Welp... That Umbran
Elegance gives her devil horns, bat wings on her back and a tiny little devil tail. Rather fitting.
Kafka gives
Bayonetta a more
Robin Hood feel, a green hat with a feather in it. But the
REAL cool one comes with our unlockable weapon, the
Chain Chomp!
Automatically unlocked upon beating 3rd
Climax, it is a leg-only weapon. Like a flail with teeth, the Chain Chomp is surprisingly strong, able to generate exploding duplicates that latch onto foes when Bayonetta knocks it into them. It IS on the slow side though, so use it wisely. And with it, the Umbran Elegance gives Bayonetta
Mario's hat! Her taunt for the weapon even evokes one of Mario's catchphrases!
Back to
the rest of the costumes you have the standard sexy clothing options, from the Umbran Kekka to the
Police uniforms....then you have the oddities like
Metal Witch.
The Nintendo Costumes are all the same as Bayo 1, so I won't show them off again
..though the
Varia Suit costume
DOES have some interesting changes.
Instead of
Beast Within, Bayo is ble to perform the
Morph Ball technique and even drop bombs with each jump!
Double jumping replaces her butterfly wings with the
Screw Attack and this even does minor damage to enemies! However, oyu can't flip the visor up and down anymore. Oh yeah, and with the
Charge Bullet Technique, she can do true Charge
Shots now!
Star Fox gets some representation with it's own costume, which also bestows a unique weapon when Bayo has her guns equipped: Arwings.
Complete with the proper sound effects and targeting reticule, there's
ONE other thing this costume does that gets its own video...
Time for a throwback with the A Witch With No
Memories costume straight from Bayo 1. The level in Vigrid's past seems like a good way to show it off...along with two throwback weapons:
Scarborough Fair and
Shuraba!
More or less, they work about the same. Even the Half and
Full Moon Beams are back with Shuraba...and just as tough to pull off!
Then we move onto
Jeanne! By and large, she's got all of the same costumes as Bayonetta, though not the
Accessories. She DOES gain the
Luigi hat for the Chain Chomp, though no special taunt. In addition to being quite vulgar ("You motherfucker!!"), Jeanne can dodge nonstop (so no cooldown after so many in a row) and her
Wicked Weaves are a tad stronger than Bayo, but to compensate the dodge window to activate Witch Time is strict: namely, you HAVE to trigger
Moth Within to gain it, so it's risk vs. reward a bit. As you can see, she's got Owl Within to fly,
Lynx Within to dash and now
Centipede Within to swim (eeeeeewwww).
Jeanne's more interesting costumes, from Bayo 1, include the
Nun outfit she briefly wore as well as her "Cutie J" outfit. Not only is she apparently a teacher for a day job, she also moonlights as a superhero?! You're cool Jeanne!
Wish she had more to do in-game.
And lastly, we have one more playable character for the story mode:
Rosa, Bayo's mummy! Though she has no alternate costumes or weapons, Rosa brings her own flair and destructive power to the battle. Armed with a set of four revolvers,
Unforgiven, Rosa boasts BY
FAR the strongest attack power in the game, roughly triple the damage. However, she also takes about three times more damage than anyone else, so it's even MORE risk vs. reward than with Jeanne.
Unforgiven's moveset is roughly the same as
Love is Blue, and as for her various shapeshifting forms, there's Hornet Within (which you won't see here, unfortunately),
Tiger Within for dashing,
Cobra Within to swim and
Falcon Within to fly. Interestingly, she possesses no Umbran Climax and instead can summon her Umbran
Armor...and boy is that devastating.
Honestly, she can decimate bosses in a flash, making her pretty good for speedrunning. That and her guns generate combo points like crazy so....you can rake in some good cash with her.
That'll do for costumes and such!
Next we'll tackle
Infinite Climax
Mode. Just how rough will it be?!
