Reel 1, Part 1 shows the evacuation of Hungnam by U.S. forces. 1st Marine Division and 7th Infantry Division troops are ferried out to transports in landing craft as 3rd Infantry Division troops fight a rearguard action. Engineer demolition teams blow up a nitrate plant, piers, and docks together with other installations as the troops withdraw. Part 2, U.S. troops and tanks, South Korean gorillas and refugees retreat through Seoul. Korean orphans are evacuated from Kimpo Air Force Base by C-54s. Part 3, U.S. troops and vehicles withdraw across a pontoon bridge over the Han River and then blow it up. Reel 2, Part 1, landing craft ferry troops out to transports under the guns of the cruiser Rochester at Inchon. South Korean refugees crowd docks at Wolmi Island. Explosions set by demolition teams light up Inchon at night. Part 2, U.S. troops withdraw across a Han River bridge as South Korean refugees cross on the ice.
