On December 10th 1989 the first TAC commercial went to air. In that year the road toll was 776; by last year 2008 it had fallen to 303.
A five minute retrospective of the road safety campaigns produced by the TAC over the last 20 years has been compiled. The montage features iconic scenes and images from commercials that have helped change they way we drive, all edited to the moving song Everybody Hurts by REM.
This campaign is a chance to revisit some of the images that have been engraved on our memories, remember the many thousands of people who have been affected by road trauma and remind us all that for everyones sake; please, drive safely.

Nurse Karen Warnecke uttered the immortal words 'If you drink, then drive, you're a bloody idiot' for the first time in a corridor at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Peter Bellion is a veteran investigator of the Victoria Police MCIU (Major Collision Investigation Unit) assessing many hundreds of fatal crashes. He has advised on a number of TAC campaigns.
On this occasion he fronts the camera to reinforce the Wipe off 5 message with a graphic demonstration of how a car driving just 5 km/h faster can impact on the severity of injuries sustained by a vulnerable road user such as a pedestrian..
This was one of the most complex commercials ever made in Australia. One 20 frame sequence took visual effects teams in two cities 10 days to complete.

The campaign highlights the dangers of taking your eyes off the road for just two seconds. International research into road user distractions has established the 'eyes off the road' time theory as a major contributor to crash risks resulting in trauma. On December 10th 1989 the first TAC commercial went to air. In that year the road toll was 776; by last year 2008 it had fallen to 303. A five minute retrospective of the road safety campaigns produced by the TAC over the last 20 years has been compiled. Peter Bellion is a veteran investigator of the Victoria Police MCIU (Major Collision Investigation Unit) assessing many hundreds of fatal crashes. He has advised on a number of TAC campaigns. On this occasion he fronts the camera to reinforce the Wipe off 5 message with a graphic demonstration of how a car driving just 5 km/h faster can impact on the severity of injuries sustained by a vulnerable road user such as a pedestrian.. International research into road user distractions has established the 'eyes off the road' time theory as a major contributor to crash risks resulting in trauma. On December 10th 1989 the first TAC commercial went to air. In that year the road toll was 776; by last year 2008 it had fallen to 303.
A five minute retrospective of the road safety campaigns produced by the TAC over the last 20 years has been compiled. The montage features iconic scenes and images from commercials that have helped change they way we drive, all edited to the moving song Everybody Hurts by REM.
This campaign is a chance to revisit some of the images that have been engraved on our memories, remember the many thousands of people who have been affected by road trauma and remind us all that for everyones sake; please, drive safely.

On 27 February 2013, the TAC launched a new mass media public education campaign targeting distracted road users. The campaign highlights the dangers of taking your eyes off the road for just two seconds.
International research into road user distractions has established the 'eyes off the road' time theory as a major contributor to crash risks resulting in trauma.
The 'eyes off the road' time is generally defined as two seconds plus, the average person's reaction time to an event is 1.8 seconds and this is factored into crash probability and injury outcome severity. That means nearly four seconds can pass before the average 'distracted' driver can react.
With more devices and distractions available to us than ever, the latest campaign shows how quickly inattention can end in disaster.
The campaign will appear on a number of different media including TV, radio, outdoor, online and ambient.

In today's video I am going to share an awesome idea about how to make a portable charger or a power bank as lots of people call it yourself at home. Let's call the DIY craft a mini tic tac power bank because all inside component will be fitted into a tic tac container. To make one yourself is pretty easy and simple. We will need only L 7805, a 9 volt krona battery, USB connector and connectors for krona batteries as well. Since a usual krona battery isn't enough I advise you to to use a maximum capacity krona battery you will only be able to find. Keep your fingers crossed!
