Thetis (/ˈθɛtɪs/; Greek: Θέτις [tʰétis]), is encountered in Greek mythology mostly as a sea nymph or known as the goddess of water, one of the 50 Nereids, daughters of the ancient sea god Nereus.
When described as a Nereid in Classical myths, Thetis was the daughter of Nereus and Doris, and a granddaughter of Tethys with whom she sometimes shares characteristics. Often she seems to lead the Nereids as they attend to her tasks. Sometimes she also is identified with Metis.
Some sources argue that she was one of the earliest of deities worshipped in Archaic Greece, the oral traditions and records of which are lost. Only one written record, a fragment, exists attesting to her worship and an early Alcman hymn exists that identifies Thetis as the creator of the universe. Worship of Thetis as the goddess is documented to have persisted in some regions by historical writers such as Pausanias.
In the Trojan War cycle of myth, the wedding of Thetis and the Greek hero Peleus is one of the precipitating events in the war which also lead to the birth of their child Achilles.
His Mother is a 1912 American silent film produced by Kalem Company. It was directed by Sidney Olcott with Gene Gauntier and Jack J. Clark in the leading roles. It was one of more than a dozen films produced by the Kalem Company filmed in Ireland for American audiences.
Terence, a violin player living in the Irish country side with his mother, is overheard by a group of passing Americans, including the banker John Foster who recognizes him as a musical genius and asks him to come to New York. After a few months, Terence's mother gives him her life savings to book passage for him to travel to America. He becomes a success, but rarely thinks of his mother. Pining for her son, his mother receives help from a parish priest and is able to follow him to New York. After seeing him in concert at the opera house, a stagehand guides her to Terence's house, where a butler refuses to let them in. When Terence learns of his mother, he rushes from his dinner with his friends and tearfully embraces her. He presents her to his friends, where they drink a toast to her.

possibly the first and only documentary on the loss of the submarine Thetis in the run up to World War 2. Thanks to BBC.
HMS Thetis (N25) was a Group 1 T-class submarine of the Royal Navy which served under two names. Under her first identity, HMS Thetis, she commenced sea trials on 4 March 1939. She sank during trials on 1 June 1939 with the loss of 99 lives. She was salvaged, repaired and recommissioned as HMS Thunderbolt serving in the Atlantic and Mediterranean theatres until she was lost with all hands on 14 March 1943.This makes Thetis one of the few military vessels that have been lost twice with her crew in their service history. Thetis - Geist der Nacht, Track 4 vom Album "Lost in Time"
Thetis, the latest case from Raijintek - unboxing, system build and some cooling performance test
Drinking like a teenager
Using up the kleenex
Staring at the CD rack asking myself which fuzzbox band would sound the best
I try on your lipstick
I try on your clothes
I wanna be you for a little while
And I'm freaked out enough to bloody my own nose
Oh sorrow, oh shame
Take me by the shoulders
Shake me to the brains
Oh sorrow, oh shame
I've locked myself in a room again
A glossy of you next to my face
Looking in the mirror
I see us frozen like cavemen discovered together in a thousand years
Every little town
Has its three-legged cat
I'm happy to live that way
Cause no one expects me to catch the rat
Oh sorrow, oh shame
Take me by the shoulders
Shake me to the brain
Oh sorrow, oh shame
I've locked myself in a room
I cross myself and do my best "Acid Queen"
A cross between a dime-store witch
And a whirling painted Martin Sheen
I try on your lipstick
I try on your hose
I wanna be you for a little while
I'm freaked out enough to bloody my own nose
Oh sorrow, oh shame
Take me by the shoulders
Shake me to the brain
Oh sorrow, oh shame
I've locked myself in a room again
