Gendered politics in gaming is nothing new. And its also not new when game developers, like Beamdog, use any critique of their SIEGE OF DRAGONSPEAR expansion of BALDUR'S GATE to claim harassment. If you treat the audience with respect, and don't shit over them, they will do the same in return. Its really a simple concept, but SJWs never seem to grasp that at all.

As promised, I'm starting this LP again. Before anyone mentions it, I'm aware that last time people (understandably) didn't fancy watching because there are already lots of BG LPs around. However I still really want to play this game regardless, and if you don't want to watch right now, then that's cool - there's no rush. Catch up when you feel like it. :)

I will be roleplaying in this LP in much the same way as I do in my other Let's Plays like Oblivion - doing my best to keep my actions in-character and not excessively metagaming. However that said Baldur's Gate is a very different game to Oblivion and is designed with some degree of expectation that the player will engage in a modicum of metagaming on their part. I will try to keep it to a minimum however on some occasions I may need to make an exception due to the game's less-than forgiving difficulty.
This playthrough is also semi-blind. I do know most details of the plot already, but even so while tips and hints are always welcome, spoilers generally are not - if not for my sake then for people who are watching that haven't played the game before.

Baldur's Gate is a role-playing video game developed by BioWare and released in 1998 by Interplay Entertainment. The game takes place in the Forgotten Realms, a high fantasy campaign setting, using a modified version of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (AD&D) 2nd edition rules. Development of this player character (PC), and an accompanying party of diverse companions, occurs through interactive dialogue, exploration, and numerous battle skirmishes. Baldur's Gate uses the Bioware-developed Infinity Engine to create an isometric user interface to the game-world. The same engine was later used in games such as Planescape: Torment, the Icewind Dale series, the Baldur's Gate expansion pack Tales of the Sword Coast, the sequel Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, and the sequel's expansion pack Throne of Bhaal. In this run I play a level 1 solo wild mage and finish the entire game without pressing the level up button. So I finish all of the fights with just 6HP and no party members. The run took a bit over 2 hours and all of my deaths and fuck ups and reloads are included. Some things I screwed up are: - Forgot to drop my quarter staff for like half an hour. - Went to Cloakwood without enough things to kill the guards for the boots of cheese, so I had to go find more stuff, I went to go get a lightning wand but then Neera was there then the door was locked anyway, so that didn't help. - I don't know if you even have to save that Duke guy from his doctor. Hardest fight is the one where the 6 nobles turn into greater doppelgangers and you have to protect 2 of the NPCs. When you run out of their sight and come back sometimes they stop fighting the NPCs and attack you. So I did that, then kited them into the entrance room to shoot them with fireballs. The room needs to be clear of peasants and guards or they'll turn on you and you won't be able to continue the dialogue. -

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition Level 1 Mage Solo Full Game
In this run I play a level 1 solo wild mage and finish the entire game without pressing the level up button. So I finish all of the fights with just 6HP and no party members. The run took a bit over 2 hours and all of my deaths and fuck ups and reloads are included. Some things I screwed up are: - Forgot to drop my quarter staff for like half an hour. - Went to Cloakwood without enough things to kill the guards for the boots of cheese, so I had to go find more stuff, I went to go get a lightning wand but then Neera was there then the door was locked anyway, so that didn't help. - I don't know if you even have to save that Duke guy from his doctor. As promised, I'm starting this LP again. Before anyone mentions it, I'm aware that last time people (understandably) didn't fancy watching because there are already lots of BG LPs around. However I still really want to play this game regardless, and if you don't want to watch right now, then that's cool - there's no rush. Catch up when you feel like it. :)
To everyone else, the setup I'm using is slightly different from last time, so here are the mods I'm using:

I will be roleplaying in this LP in much the same way as I do in my other Let's Plays like Oblivion - doing my best to keep my actions in-character and not excessively metagaming. However that said Baldur's Gate is a very different game to Oblivion and is designed with some degree of expectation that the player will engage in a modicum of metagaming on their part. I will try to keep it to a minimum however on some occasions I may need to make an exception due to the game's less-than forgiving difficulty.
This playthrough is also semi-blind. I do know most details of the plot already, but even so while tips and hints are always welcome, spoilers generally are not - if not for my sake then for people who are watching that haven't played the game before.

In this run I play a level 1 solo wild mage and finish the entire game without pressing the level up button. So I finish all of the fights with just 6HP and no party members. The run took a bit over 2 hours and all of my deaths and fuck ups and reloads are included.
Some things I screwed up are:
- Forgot to drop my quarter staff for like half an hour.
- Went to Cloakwood without enough things to kill the guards for the boots of cheese, so I had to go find more stuff, I went to go get a lightning wand but then Neera was there then the door was locked anyway, so that didn't help.

Hardest fight is the one where the 6 nobles turn into greater doppelgangers and you have to protect 2 of the NPCs. When you run out of their sight and come back sometimes they stop fighting the NPCs and attack you. So I did that, then kited them into the entrance room to shoot them with fireballs. The room needs to be clear of peasants and guards or they'll turn on you and you won't be able to continue the dialogue.

In this run I play a level 1 solo wild mage and finish the entire game without pressing the level up button. So I finish all of the fights with just 6HP and no party members. The run took a bit over 2 hours and all of my deaths and fuck ups and reloads are included.
Some things I screwed up are:
- Forgot to drop my quarter staff for like half an hour.

Bhaal, the Lord of Murder, foresaw his own death and impregnated mortal women in order to create his heirs known as the Bhaalspawn so that one day they could be sacrificed for his return. Now, years later, these children are coming of age right when the Iron Crisis is sweeping the Sword Coast.
Iron ore has begun to rot and decay after being smelted, causing a crippling metal shortage and making the commodity more valuable than gold. The roads have become flooded with bandits and thieves who prey on those with the precious metal causing Baldur's Gate to close itself off and halt all traffic. Tension thickens as the Nation of Amn is blamed for the situation and war seems inevitable.
Without explanation from your foster father, the powerful mage Gorion, you leave the city under the cover of night and are ambushed by a group of mercenaries. An armored figure, and the group's leader, demands that Gorion hands you over. Instead, your father engages the group and urges you to flee, which you do, but not before seeing your father cut down by the iron clad warrior.
Now, as Gorion’s Ward, you must investigate the iron shortage, unearth the sinister motives of your enemies, and learn the true nature of your identity. Have fun!

Fair enough,although in truth I don’t mind criticism on my own work. Some of it is valid, some of it isn’t, but that is the name of the game and it’s good that people are willing to criticize, or at least argue things.
