In what is sure to be the highlight of the well-received podcast series thus far, Axtone Records rounds off 2015 by welcoming owner and talisman Axwell, to the airwaves of ‘Axtone Presents’. Episode fifteen comes alongside Axtone’s tenth anniversary with an accompanying slew of new singles, vinyl, 52 page hardback book, and limited edition box set.
To jumpstart the podcast, Axwell enlists Swedish newcomer Klahr’s rendition of Adrian Lux’s ‘Torn Apart’. Progressing into a selection of influential Trance classics, Axwell evokes the names of artists such as Armand Van Helden, Stardust, and long-time friend Bob Sinclar as inspiration, later citing ‘This Time’ from supergroup Axwell Λ Ingrosso as a personal favourite production.
As it progresses into a 30-minute mix chock-full of infamous Ax edits, listeners and fans alike will notice Axwell’s diverse track selection and appreciation for all things music.

Legendary Swedish artist and producer Axwell has teamed up with his protégé Shapov for brand new track, ‘Belong’. The soaring, anthemic vocal will sound familiar to anyone who has seen either artist playing live over the last few months, as it has rapidly become a fan favourite. The record will be released via Axwell’s own Axtone Records label, and includes a ‘Remode’ version from Axwell & Years.
Axwell said: "Working with Shapov has been a real pleasure. He is one of the most talented artists around right now, and I’m pleased to be a part of his musical journey and to have him representing Axtone at shows all around the world"
Shapov said: “We're very excited to be unleashing ‘Belong’ to the world! It’s been amazing to hear crowds singing it back to us already when we've play it out!”
Axwell is currently in the midst of a packed summer schedule of Axwell Λ Ingrosso shows, and is also taking time out for his solo performances as well as some special Axtone dates which will include appearances from Shapov. He recently hosted an Axtone stage at Tomorrowland, and last week’s Ushuaia Ibiza Axwell Λ Ingrosso show was a special Axtone party. Forthcoming dates include Axtone Mondays at Aquarius, Croatia on August 8 (Shapov) and August 15 (Axwell).

For such a milestone in the label’s history we wanted to showcase a man who’s been at Axwell’s side since before the label’s inception and the architect of Axtone's aesthetic throughout the past decade.
It’s like Ax said, ‘Without him, Axtone wouldn’t be Axtone’
André Hedetoft is a movie director from Sweden known for his strong visual style and stories with a flair of the extraordinary. His films have been showed in festivals around the world and seen in over 250 countries. Some of his work includes the time-travel comedy DOUBLE TROUBLE, commercials for Alfa Romeo and Cadbury and the upcoming sci-fi thriller feature film ORIGIN.
Growing up he could spend hours after hours in the bathtub fantasizing himself away on fantastic adventures. Not much has changed.

Bouncing off an exclusive mix for Diplo and BBC Radio 1, Shapov confidently returns to the airwaves of ‘Axtone Presents’, kicking off with his forthcoming Axtone single, ‘Future Rave’. Continually turning heads, including that of the aforementioned grammy-winning Diplo, 2016 is marked as Shapov’s 'big year’. The Russian producer’s determination and musical prowess has never been more evident.
Citing British acts The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers as musical influences, fans get an insight into where Shapov’s “Future Rave” sound stems from. The Man
"The Man" is a slang phrase that may refer to the government or to some other authority in a position of power. In addition to this derogatory connotation, it may also serve as a term of respect and praise.
The phrase "the Man is keeping me down" is commonly used to describe oppression. The phrase "stick it to the Man" encourages resistance to authority, and essentially means "fight back" or "resist", either passively, openly or via sabotage.
History
As a phrase meaning "the boss" it dates from at least 1918.
In the Southern U.S. states, the phrase came to be applied to any man or any group in a position of authority, or to authority in the abstract. From about the 1950s the phrase was also an underworld code word for police, the warden of a prison or other law enforcement or penal authorities.
The use of this term was expanded to counterculture groups and their battles against authority, such as the Yippies, which, according to a May 19, 1969 article in U.S. News and World Report, had the "avowed aim ... to destroy 'The Man', their term for the present system of government". The term eventually found its way into humorous usage, such as in a December 1979 motorcycle ad from the magazine Easyriders which featured the tagline, "California residents: Add 6% sales tax for The Man."

It’s like Ax said, ‘Without him, Axtone wouldn’t be Axtone’ André Hedetoft is a movie director from Sweden known for his strong visual style and stories with a flair of the extraordinary. His films have been showed in festivals around the world and seen in over 250 countries. Some of his work includes the time-travel comedy DOUBLE TROUBLE, commercials for Alfa Romeo and Cadbury and the upcoming sci-fi thriller feature film ORIGIN. To jumpstart the podcast, Axwell enlists Swedish newcomer Klahr’s rendition of Adrian Lux’s ‘Torn Apart’. Progressing into a selection of influential Trance classics, Axwell evokes the names of artists such as Armand Van Helden, Stardust, and long-time friend Bob Sinclar as inspiration, later citing ‘This Time’ from supergroup Axwell Λ Ingrosso as a personal favourite production.
As it progresses into a 30-minute mix chock-full of infamous Ax edits, listeners and fans alike will notice Axwell’s diverse track selection and appreciation for all things music.

Legendary Swedish artist and producer Axwell has teamed up with his protégé Shapov for brand new track, ‘Belong’. The soaring, anthemic vocal will sound familiar to anyone who has seen either artist playing live over the last few months, as it has rapidly become a fan favourite. The record will be released via Axwell’s own Axtone Records label, and includes a ‘Remode’ version from Axwell & Years.
Axwell said: "Working with Shapov has been a real pleasure. He is one of the most talented artists around right now, and I’m pleased to be a part of his musical journey and to have him representing Axtone at shows all around the world"
Shapov said: “We're very excited to be unleashing ‘Belong’ to the world! It’s been amazing to hear crowds singing it back to us already when we've play it out!”
Axwell is currently in the midst of a packed summer schedule of Axwell Λ Ingrosso shows, and is also taking time out for his solo performances as well as some special Axtone dates which will include appearances from Shapov. He recently hosted an Axtone stage at Tomorrowland, and last week’s Ushuaia Ibiza Axwell Λ Ingrosso show was a special Axtone party. Forthcoming dates include Axtone Mondays at Aquarius, Croatia on August 8 (Shapov) and August 15 (Axwell).

For such a milestone in the label’s history we wanted to showcase a man who’s been at Axwell’s side since before the label’s inception and the architect of Axtone's aesthetic throughout the past decade.

André Hedetoft is a movie director from Sweden known for his strong visual style and stories with a flair of the extraordinary. His films have been showed in festivals around the world and seen in over 250 countries. Some of his work includes the time-travel comedy DOUBLE TROUBLE, commercials for Alfa Romeo and Cadbury and the upcoming sci-fi thriller feature film ORIGIN.
Growing up he could spend hours after hours in the bathtub fantasizing himself away on fantastic adventures. Not much has changed.
