Ever wondered what it's like to go to a camping music festival in the grasslands of China? Well, wonder no more! These days, weekend long music festivals are becoming more and more common in China. In Beijing alone, over the May Day (五一) holiday, there are three festivals. Each summer, more and more festivals pop up, oftentimes in remote locations. Take for example the In Music Festival, or 张北草原音乐节 in Chinese. Located out in the middle of nowhere Hebei province, this festival managed to attract both Chinese and international bands, and it had quite an impressive turn out considering its location and lack of advertising. 2010 was the second year of the Zhang Bei Festival, and we had so much fun there that we are waiting the announcement of year number three.

One of the biggest music festivals in China - Zhangbei Music Festival also featured Tricky

Last weekend, July 29~31 2011, the 3rd In Music Festival thrilled over 150,000 festivalgoers with headliners from Chinese rock legend Cui Jian and Tricky to a lot of other famous Chinese bands. SingerSen, took the stage right before Tricky and got the huge crowd going.
Wearing her own hand-made gauzy top, silver laser legging and her symbolic head band, SingerSen rocked the festival with her unique music style and amazing voice.
Amongst the sea of male bands, SingerSen has been recognized as the brave new female calling. Her powerful voice and strong music character won over not only the audience, but also the other musicians and critics.

Almost one week after an earthquake in China left 44,000 people homeless, many were on Thursday (15/1) still without shelter and faced with heavy snow and other severe weather conditions. Weather forecasters predicted colder weather ahead.
In Dang Jiang He village, the epicentre of the quake, families huddled together in makeshift tents to keep warm while their meagre belongings were left exposed to the winter weather.
To help alleviate the suffering of the quake victims, the United States sent a military aircraft loaded with US$500 million worth of aid, most of which was food and clothing.

A signal flare flashed across the sky. With combat aircraft roaring overhead, 100,000 troops of the Red and Blue armies with tanks and armored vehicles began a live-fire exercise in the mountains of Zhangbei County.
Wearing combat fatigues, Deng Xiaoping observed through a telescope the largest-ever live-fire exercise of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to date.
The exercise lasted for five days and Deng was present from beginning to end. During the exercise, he first proposed building the PLA into a mighty, modern and standardized revolutionary troop. This goal represented the overall target of China’s military construction in a new era.

Fan Zhiyong, Zhang Bei, Sun Yuxia on September 1st.
Fan Zhiyong was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment with
unknown whereabouts.
Zhang Bei was sentenced to three years and Sun Yuxia
was sentenced to three and a half years outside prison.
It is said that Falun Gong practitioners Fan Zhiyong, Zhang
Bei, Sun Yuxia were kidnapped on July 23rd, 2013 by Zhanhua police.
They were illegally put on trial three times in more than one
year and left successfully.
This time they were illegally sentenced without notice to
their families.
Fan Zhiyong's son, forced to drop out, is now missing.
More Than 300 Medical Workers Strike in Zhejiang
November 23, more than 300 medical workers of the Third
Hospital in Ningbo City protested the hospital merger by
private enterprise Oaks subsidiary, Minnesota Hospital.
The hospital became a private hospital from state owned

Zhangbei County (simplified Chinese: 张北县; traditional Chinese: 張北縣; pinyin: Zhāngběi Xiàn), in northwestern Hebei province, China, is a county formerly in the Chahar province. Its name, which literally means "North of Zhang[jiakou]", derives from the fact that it is 40 km (25 mi) north-northeast of Zhangjiakou. Zhangbei Town is the seat of the county government.

Ever wondered what it's like to go to a camping music festival in the grasslands of China? Well, wonder no more! These days, weekend long music festivals are becoming more and more common in China. In Beijing alone, over the May Day (五一) holiday, there are three festivals. Each summer, more and more festivals pop up, oftentimes in remote locations. Take for example the In Music Festival, or 张北草原音乐节 in Chinese. Located out in the middle of nowhere Hebei province, this festival managed to attract both Chinese and international bands, and it had quite an impressive turn out considering its location and lack of advertising. 2010 was the second year of the Zhang Bei Festival, and we had so much fun there that we are waiting the announcement of year number three.

Last weekend, July 29~31 2011, the 3rd In Music Festival thrilled over 150,000 festivalgoers with headliners from Chinese rock legend Cui Jian and Tricky to a lot of other famous Chinese bands. SingerSen, took the stage right before Tricky and got the huge crowd going.
Wearing her own hand-made gauzy top, silver laser legging and her symbolic head band, SingerSen rocked the festival with her unique music style and amazing voice.

Almost one week after an earthquake in China left 44,000 people homeless, many were on Thursday (15/1) still without shelter and faced with heavy snow and other severe weather conditions. Weather forecasters predicted colder weather ahead.
In Dang Jiang He village, the epicentre of the quake, families huddled together in makeshift tents to keep warm while their meagre belongings were left exposed to the winter weather.
To help alleviate the suffering of the quake victims, the United States sent a military aircraft loaded with US$500 million worth of aid, most of which was food and clothing.

Since the early 1980s, Wang Jianmin has recorded the modernization of the Chinese armed forces with his camera. During this period, four years stood out – 1981, 1984, 1999 and 2009 – when the military made significant achievements.

A signal flare flashed across the sky. With combat aircraft roaring overhead, 100,000 troops of the Red and Blue armies with tanks and armored vehicles began a live-fire exercise in the mountains of Zhangbei County.
Wearing combat fatigues, Deng Xiaoping observed through a telescope the largest-ever live-fire exercise of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to date.
The exercise lasted for five days and Deng was present from beginning to end. During the exercise, he first proposed building the PLA into a mighty, modern and standardized revolutionary troop. This goal represented the overall target of China’s military construction in a new era.

Fan Zhiyong, Zhang Bei, Sun Yuxia on September 1st.
Fan Zhiyong was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment with
unknown whereabouts.
Zhang Bei was sentenced to three years and Sun Yuxia
was sentenced to three and a half years outside prison.
It is said that Falun Gong practitioners Fan Zhiyong, Zhang
Bei, Sun Yuxia were kidnapped on July 23rd, 2013 by Zhanhua police.
They were illegally put on trial three times in more than one
year and left successfully.
This time they were illegally sentenced without notice to
their families.
Fan Zhiyong's son, forced to drop out, is now missing.
More Than 300 Medical Workers Strike in Zhejiang
November 23, more than 300 medical workers of the Third
Hospital in Ningbo City protested the hospital merger by
private enterprise Oaks subsidiary, Minnesota Hospital.
The hospital became a private hospital from state owned
lost strength and the original treatment.
It is said that all medical workers participated in the rights
defense, except emergency room staff, since November 23rd.
