"Egal" - a song by French singer Amanda Lear released in 1981 by Ariola Records.
"Egal" was the first single from Amanda's fifth studio album, Incognito. The author of the lyrics was the singer herself and the music was composed by Anthony Monn, her long-time collaborator. The track is arranged in the style of a chanson and its lyrics tell about a relationship breakup. The track is sung in French, but was also recorded in Spanish as "Igual" for South American pressings of the album.
The song was also known under titles "Ca m'est égal" (French for "I Don't Care") or "Égal". The single B-side was, depending of the territory, "If I Was a Boy", "Made in France" or "Ninfomania" (Spanish version of "Nymphomania"), all from the Incognito album.
The music video for the track was shot in Paris, in a famous restaurant Café de Flore, located at the corner of Boulevard Saint-Germain and Rue Saint-Benoît. It pictures Amanda Lear sitting at the table, smoking Marlboro cigarette and writing a letter to her lover.
