(Segundo programa de la serie: “Educando desde el corazón: diálogos para sumar”)
El sentir ha estado separado de la educación porque ésta ha sido enfocada desde las autoridades. Los alumnos aprenden sólo lo que otros han creado y no sólo no pueden criticarlo, sino que ni siquiera pueden expresar su sentir sobre lo que se les enseña. Sin sentir no puede haber auténtica educación tan solo instrucción, y la mera instrucción sofoca siempre la creatividad. Si queremos preparar a personas libres que no caigan en el pozo de los victimismos han de tener desarrollada su creatividad, porque ésta es el auténtico seguro para alcanzar un buen futuro, sin miedos que lo limiten.
El sentir es la puerta a conectar contigo mismo, ésta es otra razón fundamental para que forme parte de una educación de lo esencial. En este programa trataremos sobre técnicas para desarrollar nuestro sentir, para hacerlo un faro en nuestra vida. Conoceremos avances en este sentido que se están llevando a cabo en algunos centros educativos y que la mayoría de las personas aún no conocen: una nueva educación, desde el corazón, está naciendo, ponte al día con esta serie educativa de “La Caja de Pandora”.

Ha publicado en periódicos y revistas, artículos de divulgación y cuentos e interviene frecuentemente en medios de comunicación. Es autor del libro “Veintitrés maestros, de corazón –un salto cuántico en la enseñanza-“ (Editorial Desclée) . Basada en esta obra ha surgido una película-documental, “Entre maestros”, en la que se muestra, con alumnos auténticos y con el propio autor como profesor, cómo llevar a la práctica su mirada pedagógica “Educar empoderando”; este film ha sido subvencionado por el Ministerio de Cultura y coproducida por TVE. Actualmente es investigador y divulgador de los Nuevos Paradigmas Científicos y formador de educadores en su mirada pedagógica.

And this is the Sunset Strip Riots which had to do with Pandora's Box which was a club down in Hollywood and the curfew was that kids under 21 had to go home by 10 o'clock and so there were marches and protests and stuff and these guys were part of that. But they had been told when they went to press events they weren't allowed to talk about any of this stuff. And they didn't, at the press events, but they did in the show all the time. Which I think is hilarious. Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart wrote most of the songs for the first 2 years of the show and I love this, in the early 70's they started this protest, Let Us Vote, the L.U.V. protest and it contributed obviously to lowering the voting age from 21 to 18. I think that's really cool. And Peter Tork said, probably, one of the most intelligent things "the show probably garnered a larger audience for their point of view than The Beatles did" because TV comes into your house for free. You had to buy The Beatles albums. You had to pay to go to a concert. TV came into your house whether your parents allowed it or not and the parents just thought these were just a bunch of goofy guys and, by the way, who's he sitting with at the Monterey Pop Festival? Janis Joplin. She was going to guest on the show in the 3rd season but it was cancelled.

"1960s TV Censorship and The Monkees" gives a brief overview of where censorship standards were in the era - and how The Monkees pushed the envelope with its mentions of the Vietnam War - and Sunset Strip riots - and even with the outrageous storytelling behind "Frodis Caper", the episode that celebrated the saving of an alien plant that very closely resembled a marijuana plant...
Writer Treva Silverman said the staff got away with such jokes because the network executives were just old enough not to understand any of the references.

In 2007, she graduated with her Ph.D. in 20th Century U.S./Film History from Claremont Graduate University. She graduated with her M.A. in 20th Century United States History from California State University, Northridge in 2004.
Welch is also a television writer/producer with credits for Beverly Hills 90210 , CBS's Emmy winning Picket Fences and Touched By An Angel .
Her book, "Why The Monkees Matter: Teenagers, Television and American Pop Culture" was published in Summer 2016.

Pandora
In Greek mythology, Pandora (Greek: Πανδώρα, derived from πᾶν, pān, i.e. "all" and δῶρον, dōron, i.e. "gift", thus "the all-endowed", "the all-gifted" or "the all-giving") was the first human woman created by the gods, specifically by Hephaestus and Athena on the instructions of Zeus. As Hesiod related it, each god helped create her by giving her unique gifts. Zeus ordered Hephaestus to mold her out of earth as part of the punishment of humanity for Prometheus' theft of the secret of fire, and all the gods joined in offering her "seductive gifts". Her other name—inscribed against her figure on a white-ground kylix in the British Museum—is Anesidora, "she who sends up gifts" (up implying "from below" within the earth).
According to the myth, Pandora opened a jar (pithos), in modern accounts sometimes mistranslated as "Pandora's box" (see below), releasing all the evils of humanity—although the particular evils, aside from plagues and diseases, are not specified in detail by Hesiod—leaving only Hope inside once she had closed it again.

The Monkees
The Monkees are an American rock band that released music in their original incarnation between 1965 and 1971, with subsequent reunion albums and tours in the decades that followed. They were formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider for the American television series The Monkees, which aired from 1966 to 1968. The musical acting quartet was composed of Americans Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork and Englishman Davy Jones. The band's music was initially supervised by producer Don Kirshner.
Dolenz described the Monkees as initially being "a TV show about an imaginary band ... that wanted to be the Beatles, [but] that was never successful". The actor-musicians, however, soon became a real band.
For the first few months of their initial five-year career as the Monkees, the four actor-musicians were allowed only limited roles in the recording studio. This was due in part to the amount of time required to film the television series. Nonetheless, Nesmith did compose and produce some songs from the beginning, and Peter Tork contributed limited guitar work on the sessions produced by Nesmith. They eventually fought for and earned the right to collectively supervise all musical output under the band's name. The sitcom was canceled in 1968, but the band continued to record music through 1971.

Sunset Strip
The Sunset Strip is the name given to the mile-and-a-half (2.4 km) stretch of Sunset Boulevard that passes through West Hollywood, California. It extends from West Hollywood's eastern border with Hollywood at Havenhurst Drive, to its western border with Beverly Hills at Sierra Drive. The Strip is probably the best-known portion of Sunset, embracing boutiques, restaurants, rock clubs, and nightclubs that are on the cutting edge of the entertainment industry. It is also known for its trademark array of huge, colorful billboards.
History
As the Strip lies outside of the Los Angeles city limits and was an unincorporated area under the jurisdiction of the County of Los Angeles, the area fell under the less-vigilant jurisdiction of the Sheriff's Department rather than the heavy hand of the LAPD. It was illegal to gamble in the city, but legal in the county. This fostered the building of a rather wilder concentration of nightlife than Los Angeles would tolerate, and in the 1920s a number of nightclubs and casinos moved in along the Strip, which attracted movie people to this less-restricted area; alcohol was served in back rooms during Prohibition.

But they had been told when they went to press events they weren't allowed to talk about any of this stuff. And they didn't, at the press events, but they did in the show all the time. Which I think is hilarious. Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart wrote most of the songs for the first 2 years of the show and I love this, in the early 70's they started this protest, Let Us Vote, the L.U.V. protest and it contributed obviously to lowering the voting age from 21 to 18. I think that's really cool. And Peter Tork said, probably, one of the most intelligent things "the show probably garnered a larger audience for their point of view than The Beatles did" because TV comes into your house for free. You had to buy The Beatles albums. You had to pay to go to a concert. TV came into your house whether your parents allowed it or not and the parents just thought these were just a bunch of goofy guys and, by the way, who's he sitting with at the Monterey Pop Festival? Janis Joplin. She was going to guest on the show in the 3rd season but it was cancelled. About This Presentation "1960s TV Censorship and The Monkees" gives a brief overview of where censorship standards were in the era - and how The Monkees pushed the envelope with its mentions of the Vietnam War - and Sunset Strip riots - and even with the outrageous storytelling behind "Frodis Caper", the episode that celebrated the saving of an alien plant that very closely resembled a marijuana plant... Writer Treva Silverman said the staff got away with such jokes because the network executives were just old enough not to understand any of the references. Presented at Stephens College MFA in Screenwriting classes on Friday, August 5, 2016 Dr. Rosanne Welch is a professor in the Low Residency MFA in Screenwriting Program from Stephens College, California State University, Fullerton, Mount San Antonio Community College and Cal Poly Pomona. In 2007, she graduated with her Ph.D. in 20th Century U.S./Film History from Claremont Graduate University. She graduated with her M.A. in 20th Century United States History from California State University, Northridge in 2004. Welch is also a television writer/producer with credits for Beverly Hills 90210 , CBS's Emmy winning Picket Fences and Touched By An Angel . Her book, "Why The Monkees Matter: Teenagers, Television and American Pop Culture" was published in Summer 2016. El sentir ha estado separado de la educación porque ésta ha sido enfocada desde las autoridades. Los alumnos aprenden sólo lo que otros han creado y no sólo no pueden criticarlo, sino que ni siquiera pueden expresar su sentir sobre lo que se les enseña. Sin sentir no puede haber auténtica educación tan solo instrucción, y la mera instrucción sofoca siempre la creatividad. Si queremos preparar a personas libres que no caigan en el pozo de los victimismos han de tener desarrollada su creatividad, porque ésta es el auténtico seguro para alcanzar un buen futuro, sin miedos que lo limiten.
El sentir es la puerta a conectar contigo mismo, ésta es otra razón fundamental para que forme parte de una educación de lo esencial. En este programa trataremos sobre técnicas para desarrollar nuestro sentir, para hacerlo un faro en nuestra vida. Conoceremos avances en este sentido que se están llevando a cabo en algunos centros educativos y que la mayoría de las personas aún no conocen: una nueva educación, desde el corazón, está naciendo, ponte al día con esta serie educativa de “La Caja de Pandora”.

Director del Programa TREVA (www.programatreva.com ) de relajación y meditación escolar del ICE (UB) y Director del Máster en relajación, Meditación y Mindfulness del ICE (UB) ( www.masterremind-ub.org ) Fue profesor de secundaria durante 27 años. En la actualidad investiga sobre mindfulness, educación emocional, clima de aula, espiritualidad e interioridad. Ha escrito numerosos artículos científicos y divulgativos sobre esos temas y varios libros, como “Relajación en el aula” (Ed. Wolters Kluwer), “Meditación para niños”; “Educar la interioridad” (Ed. Plataforma), “Introducción al Focusing” (Ed. PPU); “Maestros del corazón” (coord.). (Ed. W.Kluwer).

Carlos González es licenciado en Ciencias Físicas. Tiene una experiencia de 24 años como maestro de matemáticas y de física para adolescentes. Lleva 20 años dando conferencias y talleres sobre crecimiento personal. Ha publicado en periódicos y revistas, artículos de divulgación y cuentos e interviene frecuentemente en medios de comunicación. Es autor del libro “Veintitrés maestros, de corazón –un salto cuántico en la enseñanza-“ (Editorial Desclée) . Basada en esta obra ha surgido una película-documental, “Entre maestros”, en la que se muestra, con alumnos auténticos y con el propio autor como profesor, cómo llevar a la práctica su mirada pedagógica “Educar empoderando”; este film ha sido subvencionado por el Ministerio de Cultura y coproducida por TVE. Actualmente es investigador y divulgador de los Nuevos Paradigmas Científicos y formador de educadores en su mirada pedagógica.

And this is the Sunset Strip Riots which had to do with Pandora's Box which was a club down in Hollywood and the curfew was that kids under 21 had to go home by 10 o'clock and so there were marches and protests and stuff and these guys were part of that. But they had been told when they went to press events they weren't allowed to talk about any of this stuff. And they didn't, at the press events, but they did in the show all the time. Which I think is hilarious. Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart wrote most of the songs for the first 2 years of the show and I love this, in the early 70's they started this protest, Let Us Vote, the L.U.V. protest and it contributed obviously to lowering the voting age from 21 to 18. I think that's really cool. And Peter Tork said, probably, one of the most intelligent things "the show probably garnered a larger audience for their point of view than The Beatles did" because TV comes into your house for free. You had to buy The Beatles albums. You had to pay to go to a concert. TV came into your house whether your parents allowed it or not and the parents just thought these were just a bunch of goofy guys and, by the way, who's he sitting with at the Monterey Pop Festival? Janis Joplin. She was going to guest on the show in the 3rd season but it was cancelled.

"1960s TV Censorship and The Monkees" gives a brief overview of where censorship standards were in the era - and how The Monkees pushed the envelope with its mentions of the Vietnam War - and Sunset Strip riots - and even with the outrageous storytelling behind "Frodis Caper", the episode that celebrated the saving of an alien plant that very closely resembled a marijuana plant...
Writer Treva Silverman said the staff got away with such jokes because the network executives were just old enough not to understand any of the references.

Dr. Rosanne Welch is a professor in the Low Residency MFA in Screenwriting Program from Stephens College, California State University, Fullerton, Mount San Antonio Community College and Cal Poly Pomona. In 2007, she graduated with her Ph.D. in 20th Century U.S./Film History from Claremont Graduate University. She graduated with her M.A. in 20th Century United States History from California State University, Northridge in 2004.
Welch is also a television writer/producer with credits for Beverly Hills 90210 , CBS's Emmy winning Picket Fences and Touched By An Angel .
Her book, "Why The Monkees Matter: Teenagers, Television and American Pop Culture" was published in Summer 2016.

Juno is going to work for Planned Parenthood. The creators of the 2007 film are re-staging it with an entirely female cast as a one-night-only live-read on April 8 to raise money and awareness for the women’s health organization ... “Considering how much this election has done against women and what Planned Parenthood has done for women I thought it would be cool to hear this script with an all-female voice,” Reitman said ... ....
