Hohenfriedberger Marsch (English Subtitle)
The Hohenfriedberger March is a Prussian/German march that was written after the Prussian victory over the Austrians (and Saxons) at Hohenfriedberg (nowadays called Dobromierz, South-West Poland) in 1745, and is specially dedicated to the Prussian Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 5, for they have destroyed 20 Austrian and Saxon battalions, took 2500 prisoners, and captured 67 regimental standards, losing only 6 officers and 28 men killed. Assisting the Prussian to gain a decisive victory, the Austrian Prinz Karl was forced to retreat in disarray. After the charge at Hohenfriedberg, the regiment was permitted to wear a golden 67 on their cartridge cases. They also received a diploma from Frederick the Great, naming all officers who took part in the charge and praising the regiment, as well as granting them their own regimental march, the Hohenfriedberger March, composed by Frederick himself. [Deutsch] Auf, Ansbach-Dragoner! X3 [English] Forward, Ansbach-Dragoons! Forward, Ansbach-Bayreuth! Fasten your saber and prepare to fight! Prince Karl appeared on Friedberg's heights Watching we the Prussian army. So, boys, cheer up! and all set ready Forward, Ansbach-Dragoons! Forward, Ansbach-Bayreuth! X3 [中文] 前进,安斯巴赫,龙骑兵! 前进 ...

Empire: Total War [HD] - Prussia - Short Campaign Part 1
[WARNING: CONTAINS UNNECESSARY SWEARING] Semi-Aggressive Prussian Campaign in Empire Total War. Possibly 100% Aggressive. Depends on how you look at it. Main Strategy. Build a military, but not one that's too costly. Just costly enough. Wait for Diplomatic Ties between Poland and Austria to die. Invade West Prussia. Invade Poland's Protectorates. Prepare for expansion into Poland and other Parts of Germany. Possibly war with Denmark. Note to self: Get rid of that damn static noise. It exists, because my microphone is boosted is to like +20. And it's boosted, because otherwise, I can barely be heard. Meaning I'd have to turn down the game volume even more. And then you'd have to turn up the volume and hear the static anyway. Well I'll work on it. Also. F4V files are nice for some games. But with this game, can leave some pixelation. I'll have to look at another file type. Oh well. [Where's Medieval II: Kingdoms?] Well that game is just dreadfully boring comparing to this one. And playing a boring game is rarely any fun. I do love the game. Just can't seem to find enough interest in it, to play more.

'War of The Century' - in East Prussia
interviewed: Anna Seddig, East Prussian refugee; Fyodor Khropatiy, 27th army When the second world war came back to Germany it were above all unarmed civilians - women, children and elderly - who had to suffer and pay the price for tremendous crimes, initiated by the Nazis and their supporters. Whereas it was strictly forbidden for the normal civilian population to flee unil it was too late for many, the Nazi officials and their families could escape in the west in time. Innumerable small children froze to death in the bitterly cold East Prussian winter, because their mothers had to flee. Women who were captured were often sent to the Gulag. Many of them never came back. All in all ca 20 % of the population of East Prussia, at least 300 000 civilians, did not survive the second world war, most of the vicitms died due to the flight and the expulsions. In Köngsberg only ca 20 % of the remaining German population survived, almost all children and elderly died. Lev Kopelev, who, like other Red Army officers tried to prevent the atrocities, described what really happened in East Prussia in his memoirs "To be Preserved Forever". I also recommend to read: Michael Wieck "Zeugnis vom Untergang Königsbergs. Ein 'Geltungsjude' brichtet." English translation: "A Childhood under Hitler and Stalin. Memoirs of a 'Certified Jew'." на русском языке: Михаэль Вик "Закат Кенигсберга. Свидетельство немецкого еврея" _______________________________________ This is a clip from the BBC ...

Unter dem Doppeladler - Prussian & Austrian Marches CD1
Berlin Philharmonic Wind Ensemble The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in Berlin in spring 1882 by 54 musicians under the name Frühere Bilsesche Kapelle (literal translation, "Former Bilse's Band"); the group broke away after their previous conductor Benjamin Bilse announced his intention of taking the band on a fourth class train to Warsaw for a concert. The orchestra was given its current name and reorganized under the financial management of Hermann Wolff in 1887. Its first conductor under the new organization was Ludwig von Brenner; in 1887 Hans von Bülow, one of the most esteemed conductors in the world, joined, and from then on, the orchestra's reputation became established, with guests Hans Richter, Felix von Weingartner, Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler, Johannes Brahms and Edvard Grieg conducting the orchestra over the next few years. Programmes of this period show, surprisingly, that the orchestra possessed only 46 strings as against the Wagnerian ideal of 64. In 1895, Arthur Nikisch became chief conductor, and was succeeded in 1923 by Wilhelm Furtwängler. Despite several changes in leadership the orchestra continued to perform throughout World War II. After Furtwängler fled to Switzerland in 1945, Leo Borchard became chief conductor. This arrangement lasted only a few months, however, as Borchard was accidentally shot and killed by American forces occupying Berlin. Sergiu Celibidache then took over as chief conductor for seven years, from 1945 to 1952 ...

Mozart String Quartet 20 'Hoffmeister' in D Major (1/5) Allegretto pt1
Quatuor Mosaiques Period Instruments String Quartet in D Major, K. 499, was written in 1786 in Vienna by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It was published by — if not indeed written for — his friend Franz Anton Hoffmeister. Because of this, the quartet has acquired the nickname Hoffmeister. There are four movements: * I. Allegretto, in D major * II. Menuetto: Allegretto, in D major, with a trio section in D minor * III. Adagio, in G major * IV. Allegro, in D major This work, sandwiched between the six quartets he dedicated to Joseph Haydn (17825) and the following three Prussian quartets (178990), intended to be dedicated to King Frederick William II of Prussia (the first edition bore no dedication, however), is often polyphonic in a way uncharacteristic of the earlier part of the classical music era. The menuetto and its trio give good examples of this in brief, with the brief irregular near-canon between first violin and viola in the second half of the main portion of the minuet, and the double imitations (between the violins, and between the viola and cello) going on in the trio.

"The Last Prussian Conjurer "automaton magician by Thomas Kuntz
This is an automaton/sculpture by artist Thomas Kuntz copyright 2012. Inspired in part by WW1 anti-war and allied propaganda art. Additional inspiration came from the Diableries/Totentanz traditions with a healthy dose of Dada, Hans Richter and Monty Python! Edition of 6 worldwide No "found" objects were used in the construction, it was sculpted from scratch and engineered for animation using scratch built cams and levers to control the motions and tricks. A part of the cam making process can be seen in the clip as well as the original clay sculpture with turned brass prototype parts. Special Thanks to Blake Bolger for the video work .
