Xichang is a city in and the seat of the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, in the south of Sichuan province, China. In 2012 it had a population of 481,796.
Xichang lies near the border of southern Sichuan and is in a rather mountainous region of the province. The city is just northeast of the prefecture-level city of Panzhihua. The Anning River, which runs into Yalong River, a tributary of the Jinsha River (Yangtze River headwaters), is the main river in the area.
Owing to its low latitude and high elevation, Xichang has a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cwa) milder and far sunnier than the Sichuan Basin, with mild, very sunny and dry winters, and very warm, rainy summers. The monthly 24-hour average temperature ranges from 9.6 °C (49.3 °F) in January to 22.3 °C (72.1 °F) in July, and the annual mean is 16.90 °C (62.4 °F). Over 60% of the 1,010 mm (40 in) annual precipitation occurs from June to August. With monthly percent possible sunshine ranging from 36% in September to 72% in January, the city receives 2,367 hours of bright sunshine annually.
It is dinner time and I was walking south along ZhongHua Rd. (中華路/中华路) without a map until I reached Guilin Rd./桂林路 where I turned right until I saw the first sign of a night market: Xichang Street Night Market/西昌街觀光夜市. Actually I was looking for the Snake Alley/HuaXi night market. It was nice that I stumbled across the famous Longshan Temple/艋舺龍山寺 too. And afterwards I found what I was looking for - Guangzhou Street Night Market and Huaxi Night Market/華西街夜市.

244-kilometer-long Yaan-Xichang highway (part of China's G5 Interstate) in Sichuan Province of southwestern China will be finished by May 1, 2012. The $30 billion highway project was started by the central government of China in 2007. This project is expected to play a key role to lift millions of Tibetan, Han, Yi and Muslim Hui people out of poverty. More than half of the highway is tunnels and bridges among mountains. Ganhaizi tunnel is a rarely-seen dual-spiral tunnel. Labajin bridge is among the highest bridges in the world.
China launched a communication satellite developed for Laos on early Saturday morning from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province. The satellite, Laos-No. 1, is the first one that China exported to a country of Association Of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The satellite was launched at 00:07 and then entered its preset orbit successfully. Developed by the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) affiliated to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the satellite will serve to provide live television broadcast, wireless broadband access and international communication services in Laos. The satellite was lifted off via a Long March -3B carrier rocket. It also marked the Long March series' 218th flying into space. More on: http://news.c...

I've been thinking about where to take yuh since it seems I've been all over as far as and as much as the MRT (Subway/Metro in Taiwan) can take me. Then I thought, HEYYYY WHY HAVE I NOT VISITED THE TEMPLE?!!! Well I haven't because I'm Christian but visiting and praying at the temple is indeed part of the Taiwanese people's lives. Most of the Taiwanese people believe in Taoism/Daoism which people tend to confuse with Buddhism. Taoism, however; is very different from Buddhism because the Taoist don't worship the buddhas but multiple different Gods that are based on the Chinese teachings and philosophies. The Taoists operate on the three virtues of compassion, moderation, and humility. Too much religions for you? Well how about just simply visiting for the pleasure of being a tourist and se...

One of my dream place-Lake Louise. Canada's "Diamond in the Wilderness," and the "Hiking Capital of Canada". This area offers a tremendous diversity of recreational and sightseeing opportunities. Lake Louise is home to one of North America's finest downhill ski areas, and has numerous hiking and walking trails. The region abounds with spectacular scenery, from glaciers to waterfalls. 加拿大哥伦比亚省路易斯湖
Inner Ring Road, also known as Inner Ring Elevated Road, is an elevated expressway in the city of Shanghai, China. It was the first ring road around the city of Shanghai. The Puxi section of the road was completely grade-separated and complete in 1994, while the Pudong section of the road was completely grade-separated in 2009. Before the grade separation in Pudong, the road ran at street level, with traffic lights at intersections. The maximum speed on the expressway is 80 kilometres per hour (50 mph), with two lanes in each direction. The Inner Ring Road crosses the Huangpu River twice, using the Yangpu and Nanpu bridges.
