Despite an international ban, the trade in endangered animals to the Middle East is flourishing. This exclusive report tracks the dealers, buyers and government officials who protect them.
In January 2005, a crate containing six baby chimpanzees and four monkeys was rescued from a flight from Cairo. The animals had been denied food and water for days and one soon died. Scouring flight records, animal investigators linked the shipment to a notorious wildlife smuggler. It's believed this smuggler traffics an average of 40 chimpanzees a year, bribing airport officials. Despite a wealth of evidence against her, she has never been prosecuted.

Osobhano - The Hunt: a documentary on wild animal poaching in north-east India.
This film also highlights the traditions of the Lotha tribe of Longsa village in Nagaland and also the problem of culturally institutionalized hunting and poaching activities in that region.
The film attempts to capture the way of life of the Lotha tribe in Nagaland. Although the ways are traditional, some of them are taking a toll on the environment and the ecology.
Traditionally, the Nagas are food gatherers and they hunted anything that moved in the jungle. An overwhelming number of people have realized that indiscriminate hunting is wiping out the animals and an ever-increasing variety of animal species have become rare.
The film tries to see how the slash, burn and shifting cultivation technique employed by the Lothas and the other nagas have a very adverse effect. They burn the forest and all the vegetation on the hill slopes and use the barren slopes to cultivate wheat and other cash crops.

East is a noun, adjective, or adverb indicating direction or geography. East is one of the four cardinal directions or compass points. It is the opposite of west and is perpendicular to north and south.
Etymology
The word east comes from Middle English est, from Old English ēast, which itself comes from the Proto-Germanic *aus-to- or *austra- "east, toward the sunrise", from Proto-Indo-European *aus- "to shine," or "dawn". This is similar to Old High German *ōstar "to the east", Latin aurora "dawn", and Greek ēōs or heōs.Ēostre, a Germanic goddess of dawn, might have been a personification of both dawn and the cardinal points.
Navigation
By convention, the right hand side of a map is east. This convention has developed from the use of a compass, which places north at the top.
To go east using a compass for navigation, set a bearing or azimuth of 90°.
Cultural
East is the direction toward which the Earth rotates about its axis, and therefore the general direction from which the Sun appears to rise. The practice of praying towards the East is older than Christianity, but has been adopted by this religion as the Orient was thought of as containing mankind's original home. Hence, most Christian churches are oriented towards the east.

Animal
Animals are multicellular, eukaryotic organisms of the kingdom Animalia (also called Metazoa). All animals are motile, meaning they can move spontaneously and independently, at some point in their lives. Their body plan eventually becomes fixed as they develop, although some undergo a process of metamorphosis later on in their lives. All animals are heterotrophs: they must ingest other organisms or their products for sustenance.
Most known animal phyla appeared in the fossil record as marine species during the Cambrian explosion, about 542 million years ago. Animals are divided into various sub-groups, some of which are: vertebrates (birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish); molluscs (clams, oysters, octopuses, squid, snails); arthropods (millipedes, centipedes, insects, spiders, scorpions, crabs, lobsters, shrimp); annelids (earthworms, leeches); sponges; and jellyfish.
Etymology
The word "animal" comes from the Latin animalis, meaning having breath, having soul or living being. In everyday non-scientific usage the word excludes humans – that is, "animal" is often used to refer only to non-human members of the kingdom Animalia; often, only closer relatives of humans such as mammals, or mammals and other vertebrates, are meant. The biological definition of the word refers to all members of the kingdom Animalia, encompassing creatures as diverse as sponges, jellyfish, insects, and humans.

This film also highlights the traditions of the Lotha tribe of Longsa village in Nagaland and also the problem of culturally institutionalized hunting and poaching activities in that region. The film attempts to capture the way of life of the Lotha tribe in Nagaland. Although the ways are traditional, some of them are taking a toll on the environment and the ecology. Traditionally, the Nagas are food gatherers and they hunted anything that moved in the jungle. An overwhelming number of people have realized that indiscriminate hunting is wiping out the animals and an ever-increasing variety of animal species have become rare. Despite an international ban, the trade in endangered animals to the Middle East is flourishing. This exclusive report tracks the dealers, buyers and government officials who protect them.
In January 2005, a crate containing six baby chimpanzees and four monkeys was rescued from a flight from Cairo. The animals had been denied food and water for days and one soon died. Scouring flight records, animal investigators linked the shipment to a notorious wildlife smuggler. It's believed this smuggler traffics an average of 40 chimpanzees a year, bribing airport officials. Despite a wealth of evidence against her, she has never been prosecuted.

Osobhano - The Hunt: a documentary on wild animal poaching in north-east India.
This film also highlights the traditions of the Lotha tribe of Longsa village in Nagaland and also the problem of culturally institutionalized hunting and poaching activities in that region.
The film attempts to capture the way of life of the Lotha tribe in Nagaland. Although the ways are traditional, some of them are taking a toll on the environment and the ecology.
Traditionally, the Nagas are food gatherers and they hunted anything that moved in the jungle. An overwhelming number of people have realized that indiscriminate hunting is wiping out the animals and an ever-increasing variety of animal species have become rare.

Despite an international ban, the trade in endangered animals to the Middle East is flourishing. This exclusive report tracks the dealers, buyers and government officials who protect them.
In January 2005, a crate containing six baby chimpanzees and four monkeys was rescued from a flight from Cairo. The animals had been denied food and water for days and one soon died. Scouring flight records, animal investigators linked the shipment to a notorious wildlife smuggler. It's believed this smuggler traffics an average of 40 chimpanzees a year, bribing airport officials. Despite a wealth of evidence against her, she has never been prosecuted.

Osobhano - The Hunt: a documentary on wild animal poaching in north-east India.
This film also highlights the traditions of the Lotha tribe of Longsa village in Nagaland and also the problem of culturally institutionalized hunting and poaching activities in that region.
The film attempts to capture the way of life of the Lotha tribe in Nagaland. Although the ways are traditional, some of them are taking a toll on the environment and the ecology.
Traditionally, the Nagas are food gatherers and they hunted anything that moved in the jungle. An overwhelming number of people have realized that indiscriminate hunting is wiping out the animals and an ever-increasing variety of animal species have become rare.
The film tries to see how the slash, burn and shifting cultivation technique employed by the Lothas and the other nagas have a very adverse effect. They burn the forest and all the vegetation on the hill slopes and use the barren slopes to cultivate wheat and other cash crops.

After working behind the camera as an assistant cameraman and in small roles, he received his break in 2001 super-hit Majestic which marked the beginning of his successful career. Its first production was Jothe Jotheyali with Darshan in a special appearance.[2] Because of his consistent performance at box office, he is considered one of the most dependable and commercially successful star in Kannada Cinema. Darshan Thoogudeep (born 16 February 1977), mononymously addressed as Darshan, is an Indian film actor, producer and distributor who works predominantly in the Kannada film industry. He is the son of veteran Kannada actor Thoogudeepa Srinivas. Darshan initially worked in trivial roles in few films and television shows, later made his debut in a lead role in 2001 film, Majestic, and has since then starred in many commercial and critical hit films such as Kariya (2003), Namma Preethiya Ramu (2003), Kalasipalya (2005), Gaja (2008 film) Saarathi (2011), 'Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (2012), Bulbul (2013) .[1]
After working behind the camera as an assistant cameraman and in small roles, he received his break in 2001 super-hit Majestic which marked the beginning of his successful career. After earning stability and fame in his acting career he forayed into film production and distribution. He established his own production house "Thoogudeepa productions" in 2006, which has since been a successful commercial venture. Its first production was Jothe Jotheyali with Darshan in a special appearance.[2] Because of his consistent performance at box office, he is considered one of the most dependable and commercially successful star in Kannada Cinema. An avid animal lover, he is well known for his strong passion for pets, wild animals and owns a private stud in his farmhouse in the far east of Mysuru city.
