The Art of Star Wars and Superheroes

CLOSING DATE EXTENDED TO MONDAY MARCH 28TH Silver K Gallery is delighted to present “The Art of Star Wars and Superheroes” the largest exhibition of Star Wars art ever presented in Australia. The collection has taken over 2 years to bring together and with over 150 pieces on display the show literally take visitors on a journey through the life and times of the whole Star Wars saga. Lucas Films , now owned by Disney, have commissioned some of the finest artist and illustrators to recapture many of those classic scenes and moments that have made Star Wars such an internationally acclaimed success – these artists are literally at the top of the tree in the Star Wars art world. All the art on display is first created as a one off original and then reproduced as a limited edition Giclee print on canvas or paper. The canvas renditions are absolutely stunning and the Giclee process is so good that many pieces are often mistaken for originals. All the famed and favourite Star Wars characters are on display including Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Stormtroopers, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, R2-D2, C-3PO and many many more. A special highlight is a collection of images based on the new Star Wars film –“ Episode V11 – The Force Awakens” – one of the most anticipated films in cinematic history. The attached image “Incoming T-70 Tearing It Up” is just one example from this latest Star Wars thriller. The art in this show is truly captivating and for Star Wars fans or lovers of art in general this is a show not to be missed. The exhibition also features a beautiful collection of Superheroes artwork, with work from internationally acclaimed artists Alex Ross and Jim Lee being a centre point of the display. Batman, Superman , Wonderwomen , Green Lantern, The Joker, Harley-Quinn and many more – they are all part of this extraordinary collection. A stunning image of “Mythology Batman ( see attachment ) gives you just a glimpse of Alex Ross’s artistic talent. Alex is so popular today he is literally mobbed whenever he attends conventions and it is not uncommon to see lines hundreds of meters long waiting to see him. He is a giant of the comic art industry. No Superheroes show would be complete without the great Stan Lee , creator of Spiderman and all the much loved Marvel characters. A wonderful collection of Stan Lee’s art is on display , many pieces being hand signed by the master himself. Bring this show together has been one of the largest projects Silver K Gallery has ever done and this collection is one of the very best exhibitions we have ever presented at the gallery.
