Old Post Office Seymour

The 1872 Old Post Office Seymour is central regional Victoria’s premier privately owned commercial Fine Art Gallery. The Gallery and Restaurant were established in 1992. The Gallery exhibits art and craft by Australian award winning Artists. The quality of the work is only surpassed by the variety offered for sale. Traditional to Contemporary paintings, in all mediums, covering most subjects, are hung as if in your home. Displays of individual quality Australian-made Jewellery, Wildlife Sculpture, Artglass, Woodwork and Pottery are tastefully displayed throughout. The Restaurant, with its open fire, is centrally located and encourages the visitor to sit and enjoy the ambience, choose a hearty meal or snack from the extensive menu or just browse through the rooms, glass of Goulburn Valley or Strathbogie wine in hand. In 2004, the Year of the Built Environment, they won the areas popular vote competition, held by the Herald Sun and the Government, to identify Victoria’s Favourite Places and in 2005 they won the Tourism Attraction/ Festival & Event and were finalists in Dining catagories of the Mitchell Business Awards. Fine Art Gallery & Licensed Restaurant Open: Wednesday to Sunday 11am to 4pm & Wednesday to Saturday evenings from 6pm til late. We are at the 95k post on the Old Hume Hwy North of Melbourne. One hour's travel - about the same as the many other towns listed.
