Over 320 species from around the world can be found in our beautiful natural setting just five minutes from the city center.

Melbourne Zoo is open every day of the year (including Christmas Day and all public holidays)

How to get to the Zoo

Drive:
Melbourne Zoo is located only minutes north from the city centre within Royal Park and a quick drive from Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine).
The Zoo’s address is Elliott Avenue Parkville 3052. Its Melways reference is 43 E1.
Car parking costs $2 for five hours.

Tram:
Tram 55 runs from William Street in the city centre every day stopping directly outside Melbourne Zoo.

Train:
Trains run from Flinders Street Station on the Upfield line every day stopping at Melbourne Zoo’s own Royal Park Station.

Bus:
Bus route 505 from Moonee Ponds to Melbourne University stops outside Melbourne Zoo.

Happens: Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday


Time: 9am to 5pm + selected summer evenings to 9.30pm
