Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka | M.A.D.E.

Australia’s newest museum M.A.D.E. presents the Eureka story in the context of the 21st century on the site of the Eureka Rebellion in Ballarat. It is a digitally-immersive, state-of-the-art museum that has been curated in collaboration with some of the best Australian and international historians, museum experts and innovative minds. With the evocative 158-year-old Eureka Flag as its centrepiece, M.A.D.E’s interactive and immersive exhibitions explore the evolution and the future of democracy – looking at culture, civics, history and citizenship. M.A.D.E features high-end, technical interactive exhibits, two formal education spaces, a purpose-built display gallery for the Eureka Flag, a theatre that seats up to 120, a café, gift shop and an outdoor precinct. M.A.D.E is open seven days a week (except public holidays) at the corner of Stawell Street and Eureka Street (enter via Stawell Street), Ballarat, Victoria. Ticket Cost: $12 for adults, $8 for concession, children are free if accompanied by an adult. Admission for Ballarat residents is free (identification with local address required upon entry).
