CERES Organic Food & Craft Market

The CERES organic Market and Grocery and Coffee stall are now open 7 days a week. We have live, local bands every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday mornings between 9-12. The craft market is on every Saturday morning and, coming soon, Sunday mornings. CERES Organic Food & Craft Market is located along the picturesque Merri Creek in East Brunswick, CERES community Environment Park. The focus of the market is organic food and hand-made and secondhand/recycled items. CERES market provides local people with an affordable, ethical and friendly way of doing business, both buying and selling, within the village atmosphere of CERES. There are two main parts to the market - the Organic Food Market and the Recycled/Craft Market. Local organic produce The Market sells locally produced, affordable organic fruit and vegetables, along with organic sourdough breads and pastries. We have fair-trade coffee and tea available and yummy organic muffins from the CERES Cafe. As much produce as possible is sourced from the CERES Honey Lane and Merri Creek market gardens, or from other small sustainable growers and backyard producers around Melbourne. Craft Market CERES Makers and Flea Market is a friendly community market selling a range of locally produced products and recycled items. Small, intimate and with a great family atmosphere, the Makers and Flea Market is a beautiful place to be on a Saturday morning - surrounded by trees, with sounds of chooks and frogs, and alongside the Organic Market and Coffee Stall. Our emphasis is on a high standard of products that are handmade by the stallholders themselves, out of recycled, sustainable or found materials. Every time you visit you will find something different, beautiful and useful - things for you, your children, your home, things for winter or summer, inside or outside. We also host a great range of second hand stallholders with recycled and vintage clothing, home wares and bric a brac. With both regular and occasional stalls there is always something exciting to find! As we support local artisans we do not allow the sale of mass produced or imported goods. Book Exchange CERES Market is hosting a new book exchange venture in our old bread cave. Operating on a “take a book out, put a book in” basis, the exchange will hold a diverse range of subject material – everything from pulp fiction to social and cultural theory. CERES aims to create a prominent hub of knowledge and “novel” recycling as well as providing a small but important space for the swapping of literature and promoting literacy and self education. Donations of books are greatly welcomed. The exchange is open and accessible during normal park hours. We look forward to meeting you at the market!
