On January 21, 2015 I caught up with X Company's Dustin Milligan to discuss the new series that is described as an emotionally driven character drama, set in the dangerous world of WWII espionage and cover operation. The series follows the stories of five highly skilled young recruits from Canada, the United States and Great Britain who are torn from their ordinary lives and trained as agents in an ultra-secret facility on the shores of Lake Ontario. Based on a true story, the agents venture deep into enemy lines where they put themselves directly in the line of fire.
We talked about his decision to leave 90210 and then moved on to discuss X Company and his character. Milligan opened up how Tom has an issue with killing people (even if they fight for the other side) and whether that causes any tension with other members of the team. I asked Dustin to explain whether the show is more about the secret operations that the team completes or the dynamics between the team members themselves. Finally, the actor talks about whether he had to put on an American accent for the role. We end by saying a quick hello to our mutual friend, Shenae Grimes.

Dustin Wallace Milligan (born July 28, 1985) is a Canadian film and television actor known for his role as Ethan Ward on 90210.
Milligan was born in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, the son of Jean Wallace, a former Yellowknife city councillor, and Bill Milligan.
He is known for playing the role of Ethan Ward in the The CW's 90210, a spin-off of the 1990s prime-time drama Beverly Hills, 90210. He was written out of the show at the end of the first season.
His film credits include Final Destination 3 (2006), Slither (2006), The Butterfly Effect 2 (2006), In the Land of Women (with Kristen Stewart, Adam Brody and Meg Ryan), (2007), Butterfly on a Wheel (2007), The Messengers (2007) and Extract (2009).
Milligan starred in the short-lived primetime suspense drama Runaway, picked up by the CW network for its inaugural season in September 2006, but canceled in October after only nine episodes. He starred in the Canadian network CTV's made-for-TV movie Eight Days To Live playing O.C. star Kelly Rowan's missing son. Milligan has also played minor roles in the television series The Days, Andromeda, The Dead Zone, Alice, I Think, Supernatural and the CBC's Da Vinci's City Hall.

Along the way, Riley meets Ogden (Dustin Milligan), an introspective musician. When Ogden discovers Riley’s plan, he makes it his goal to change her mind. As their new friendship deepens, an unlikely dedication to each other proves that while life isn't perfect, love can still be extraordinary. -

After performing a Seance, something goes drastically wrong and they are violently killed over the course of the night. A police officer and a psychologist are brought in to question the survivor to discover what happened to them during that horrific evening. -

O filme dirigido pelo desconhecido Will Canon (não se engane, James Wan é o pai) pode ser encarado como uma tentativa caça-níquel de iniciar uma nova cinessérie, mas também tem o seu valor, para quem gosta do gênero. Apesar de quase todos os diálogos serem risíveis e das situações beirarem o ridículo, a história geral é bem amarrada. (Bem, mais ou menos).
A trama original (advinha de quem?) de Wan tem como pano de fundo um massacre ocorrido em determinada casa (ela mesma, a do título). Cinco adolescentes foram brutalmente assassinados dentro do prédio por uma amiga de escola depois de invocarem um ritual satânico.
Anos depois, um grupo de jovens, liderado por uma equipe de “caça-fantasmas” resolve revisitar a casa a fim de reconstituírem os eventos da noite fatídica para um documentário. Caberá ao detetive Mark Lewis (Frank Grillo) e à psicóloga Elizabeth Klein (Maria Bello), interrogarem um sobrevivente do segundo atentado, John (Dustin Milligan), para desvendar o caso.
Assim, o filme começa do final, com o espectador desvendando os mistérios lado a lado dos policiais. A estrutura da montagem funciona bem, porém as informações são apresentadas com um didatismo quase infantil. Há um personagem entre os estudantes para explicar as teorias macabras, por exemplo. Parte da história é contada por meio de flashbacks, de imagens caseiras captadas para o doc. dentro do filme que, quando recuperadas, lembram o estilo fake vérité de A Bruxa de Blair.
O problema é que a trama teen respinga mais clichê do que sangue na cadeira do cinema. John, o sobrevivente, é atormentado pela morte da mãe, mas ele tem uma relação com a casa e, por isso, é convencido pela namorada a participar do documentário, dirigido pelo ex-namorado dela, um playboy antipático.
É tão batido, que o espectador deixar de acreditar até no previsível desfecho que se anuncia. E é aí que está o pulo do gato (preto) de Wan. (Cuidado, risco de spoiler). O realizador surpreende (?) com uma reviravolta. Porém, que se dá a partir de pistas falsas. Um recurso questionável, mas que certamente tem seu público

James Wan já assustou muita gente. Se você concorda com essa frase, A Casa dos Mortos é o seu tipo de filme. Não está ligando o nome à pessoa? Diretor de Jogos Mortais, Gritos Mortais, Sobrenatural (um e dois) e Invocação do Mal (um e dois), o produtor de Annabelle, ele também investe na mesma função neste A Casa dos Mortos, do qual também é roteirista. E alguém duvida de que o novo filme vai virar uma franquia? Bom, o futuro da obra, é claro, às bilheterias pertence.
O filme dirigido pelo desconhecido Will Canon (não se engane, James Wan é o pai) pode ser encarado como uma tentativa caça-níquel de iniciar uma nova cinessérie, mas também tem o seu valor, para quem gosta do gênero. Apesar de quase todos os diálogos serem risíveis e das situações beirarem o ridículo, a história geral é bem amarrada. (Bem, mais ou menos).
A trama original (advinha de quem?) de Wan tem como pano de fundo um massacre ocorrido em determinada casa (ela mesma, a do título). Cinco adolescentes foram brutalmente assassinados dentro do prédio por uma amiga de escola depois de invocarem um ritual satânico.
Anos depois, um grupo de jovens, liderado por uma equipe de “caça-fantasmas” resolve revisitar a casa a fim de reconstituírem os eventos da noite fatídica para um documentário. Dustin Milligan has joined Gerard Butler in the Voltage Pictures film “The Headhunter’s Calling,” sources confirm to Variety.
