This blockbuster movie started a new era of Hindi Romantic movies.
In 90s after this movie girls were about Aamir and guy wanted to be like Aamir , even some Actors too :). Lots of romantic movies after this were inspired by it .
'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' remains my favorite of the lot. It is a somewhat dramatized but humble adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'
'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' is one of the most memorable tragic love stories on the Hindi cinema screen. What makes this film unique is the incredible chemistry between the two leads , their characterization, strong script, dramatic scenes , cinematography and awesome songs.
It's a must watch if you haven't seen it , talking about which I have seen it 22 times in theater when it was running packed house.

Aamir Khan was born in 1965 in a Mumbai Muslim family that has been actively involved in the Indian film industry. Aamir Khan continues to make Bollywood films. His blood ties go to the ethnic Pashtun/Pakhtun in Paksitan/Afghanistan. He is a descendant of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, and
former Indian president Dr Zakir Hussain. His father, Tahir Hussain, is a leading film producer, and his paternal uncle, Nasir Hussain, was a top film director. His father played some cameo roles (Teesri Manzil drummer Rocky), and another paternal uncle, Tahir Khan, also appeared in a number of Hindi films (Ham Kisi Se Kam Hahin). Since 2007, his nephew is also trying to a break into Indian movies. The film also gave Juhi Chawla her first leading role in the superhit film QSQT with Aamir Khan who played a small role in 1984 film Holi, and Juhi Chawla in 1986 film Sultanat.

Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan (pronounced [ˈaːmɪr ˈxaːn]; born Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan on 14 March 1965) is an Indian film actor, director and producer. Through his successful career in Hindi films, Khan has established himself as one of the most popular and influential actors of Indian cinema. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including four National Film Awards and seven Filmfare Awards. He was honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Shri in 2003 and the Padma Bhushan in 2010.
Khan first appeared on screen as a child actor in his uncle Nasir Hussain's film Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973). His first feature film role came with the experimental film Holi (1984), and he began a full-time acting career with a leading role in the highly successful tragic romance Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988). His performance in the film and in the thriller Raakh (1989) earned him a Special Mention at the National Film Award ceremony. He established himself as a leading actor of Hindi cinema in the 1990s by appearing in several commercially successful films, including the romantic drama Dil (1990), the romance Raja Hindustani (1996), for which he won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor, and the drama Sarfarosh (1999). He was also noted for playing against type in the critically acclaimed Canadian-Indian film Earth (1998).

In 90s after this movie girls were about Aamir and guy wanted to be like Aamir , even some Actors too :). Lots of romantic movies after this were inspired by it .
'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' remains my favorite of the lot. It is a somewhat dramatized but humble adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'
'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' is one of the most memorable tragic love stories on the Hindi cinema screen. What makes this film unique is the incredible chemistry between the two leads , their characterization, strong script, dramatic scenes , cinematography and awesome songs.
It's a must watch if you haven't seen it , talking about which I have seen it 22 times in theater when it was running packed house.
