Pakistan has been trying best to grab Kashmir from India for many decades now. As most people may know, Kashmir has always been an integral part of India (Bharat) for thousands of years. Even the very name kashmir comes from the Hindu sage's name Kashyap sage, who performed his meditations in Kashmir. It's capital Shrinager means the city of Sri or Hindu Goddess Lakshmi. A part of Kashmir has already gone in the hands of Pakistan. There is a strong Pakistan backed conspiracy in parts of present Kashmir to have freedom from India and join Pakistan or live free. When you think India, if you think spicy food, snake charmers, dodging cows, the Taj Mahal, and total chaos- you’re thinking about Northern India. It's an adventure waiting to happen, and will leave you wondering why it only accounts for 1% of world tourism.

Welcome to Delhi. Say goodbye to your personal space. It’s crowded, it’s overwhelming, and definitely exhausting. One day here can feel like an entire week. The only way you’ll have any fun is to just put down the Purell and join the party.
Instead of going straight to Agra to see the Taj Mahal, first I head west to hang with some locals in Rajasthan. Here, the people are welcoming, the desert is sprawling, and the camels command the streets. And it turns out that the cows aren’t the only things Hindus hold sacred.
Karni Mata Rat Temple. Over 20,000 rats call this Hindu temple home, and Indians come here to pay their respects, as these rats are believed to be the reincarnations of ancestors. Shoes aren’t allowed inside, so plan ahead and bring two pairs of socks, and if you’re brave enough, it’s considered an honor to share a bowl of milk with the rats.
Most travelers who come to Jaisalmer opt for the camel safari across the Thar Desert, leading you to a good spot to view the sun setting over the Pakistani border, which happens to be heavily armed, so always keep your cool.
The food is awesome. It completely blew me away. I honestly don’t know much about Indian food, and half the time I didn’t know what I was ordering, but with the intense spices and pungent flavors, every meal seemed to be better than the next, from high end restaurants to local cafes. TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet usually hit the mark with their recommendations, and asking for whatever the chef recommends almost always rewarded me with a memorable meal.
Get on a bus and head north, and you’ll eventually reach Rishikesh- a city where you won’t find meat on any menu, and is overrun by hippie backpackers, weird yoga people, and unruly monkeys. It’s the gateway to the Himalayas.
Oh my God whatever you do.. don’t feed the monkeys. Rabies is a very serious risk in India, and medical treatment to prevent it is very long, and very painful.
After experiencing my share of incredible extremes here in India, my journey brings me to Varanasi, Hindu’s most holy city on the banks its most holy river, The Ganges. Varanasi is a city that was built on and still thrives on traditions. Traditions that may seem strange and shocking, at first, but spend enough time here and you’ll come to appreciate the power of this place.
For many people, Varanasi is their final resting place. Hindus believe that dying here will release you from the cycle of rebirth. For families that can afford it, elaborate cremation ceremonies are carried out in publi c view along the river, their ashes being released into the water. For the vast majority, however, bodies are weighted with stones and sunk to the bottom. These traditions are in harmony with daily bathing rituals- a ritual that is said to remove sins and purify souls.

Farang, the Thai word for foreigner, is the story of how chef Andy Ricker took a 25 year obsession and spun it into the Pok Pok restaurant empire. While impetus behind Andy opening a restaurant in the first place was a decision based wanting to be able to travel and not continue his house painting business, it became more than that. The focus of Andy's mission soon became to represent the culture and food of the people in Northern Thailand as faithfully as possible. He is constantly reinforcing the idea that he is not a chef, but merely a person who is helping to curate this cuisine in America. In the film Andy introduces us to 3 of his main inspirations Thailand for which he based some of his most successful dishes. Farang covers Andy's story from his childhood to present day, and was filmed between Chiang Mai, Portland, and New York. The filming was mostly done in May 2013 as Andy was getting ready to open up 6th restaurant, Sen Yai.

I was invited on a short Volkswagen road trip to the Kanchanaburi province of Thailand, by Amazing Thailand (the official Tourism Authority of Thailand), and I was happy to be a part of it.
We set off from Bangkok, and drove to Kanchanaburi town first. From there we stopped off at the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery for a quick visit before heading over to the famous Bridge Over River Kwai (สะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแคว).
Along the river, just down the road from the bridge we ate lunch at Keeree Tara Restaurant (ร้าน คีรีธารา). There was a set meal already placed at our tables, and the food was overall quite good.
After lunch we set off on the road again, Ying and I were in a private VW van (pretty cool), and drove over to Tham Kra Sae (ถ้ำกระแซ), which is a scenic section of the railroad, and a cave.
We kept on driving until we arrived at Thong Pha Phum (ทองผาภูมิ) and we arrived at our hotel for the evening, which was Phu Iyara Resert (ภูไอยรา รีสอร์ท). The hotel was basic but alright.
Dinner was good, but unfortunately the light was so poor, I couldn't get any good video.
The next morning we woke up early and headed to the morning market. The views were beautiful and the market was very pleasant.
After walking around the market, we then headed over to Wat Thakanun (วัดท่าขนุน), a temple situated on the side of the mountain. It was nice and quiet.
After the market and temple we headed back to the hotel and ate a simple breakfast of khao tom - rice soup.
Then we headed to the river to do some kayaking, which turned into quite an adventure, but it was a lot of fun!

One of the reasons Chiang Mai is such a popular base for expats is the food. From Thai to International and from street food to restaurants, Chiang Mai has more quality restaurants per capita than I've experienced in any other city in Thailand let alone any other country! Whether you're into fine International dining or strictly a vegetarian you'll find your fix in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The following is a travel food featuring local Thai food, Northern Thai cuisine, street food, International cuisine, Southeast Asian delights and vegetarian restaurants for all budgets from backpacker to flashpacker:
1) Many visit Buddhist temples in Chiang Mai for experiences other than food; however, for those who visit Wat Suan Dok nestled behind the temple is a great Thai vegetarian restaurant called Pun Pun (Imm Aim). We ordered vegetarian spring rolls, mixed salad, Indian roti and curry set along with a sticky coconut rice dessert - all were excellent!
2) Indulging in Northern Thai delicacies is an absolute must in Chiang Mai. The most famous of dishes, Khao Soi, is done to perfect at Peppermint cafe. With a coconut curry base, boiled and crispy noodles and select vegetables (meat or chicken is optional) its a signature dish you'll likely be having more than once. In many ways it is similar to Thai Massaman curry. On the plus side, it is one of the most inexpensive meals you can find in Northern Thailand coming in at around 30 to 60 Baht.
3) One simply cannot come to Chiang Mai and skip out on the Saturday Night market. We were just going to go for a walk but instead we ended up feasting on twist potatoes, blueberry cheesecake ice cream, pan-friend dumplings, dim sum, chocolate and banana roti, YES! We were full by the end but our wallets weren't stretched that much as Thai street food is inexpensive.
4) A proper Northern Thai meal is something called a Khantoke set meal. Always including sticky rice many different curries, pork sausage and pickled dishes are presented in wicker baskets to enjoy.
5) Not far from our Thai apartment is a wonderful night market specializing in Thai street food stalls. One of our favorites is yellow egg noodles with dumplings in a soup broth. So good, so cheap!
6) One of my favorite desserts in the world (not just in Thailand) is mango sticky rice with coconut milk drizzled over top. It's the kind of dish you'll want all to yourself as sharing means less bites for you ;)
7) When it comes to Thai street food the ubiquitous Thai banana chocolate pancake has been sustaining backpackers for decades. Popular for good reason this dish can be eaten as a snack, dessert or for breakfast.
8) Pad Thai, possibly the most over-rated Thai dish, well known around the world. It's worth trying (at a restaurant or on the street) but don't limit yourself to just having this kind of meal when in Thailand. You may be surprised to know that many Thais find it kind of bland and boring.
9) For the best vegetarian food in Chiang Mai head over to Salad Concept where you can create your own wraps and/or salads with a plethora of different fresh ingredients. It is popular with hipster Thais, so you know it is good.
10) Finally, if you're in the mood for Korean food be sure to check out Korea House for great Korean pancakes and Korean dumplings.

My daughter and I stayed at the Marriott CasaMagna Hotel in Cancun Hotel Zone. We rode the bus to the Xcaret office where one can purchase tickets and board the bus that takes you to Xcaret Park in Playa del Carmen. Xcaret Park is close to most of the all inclusive resorts in Cancun, Riviera Maya, and Playa del Carmen area.

Ladakh (LEH) - Known as land of high passes - is a region of India in the state of Jammu and Kashmir that lies between the Kunlun mountain range. It is also known as Mini Tibet.
Mughal gardens - They are a group of gardens built by the Mughals in the Persian
style of architecture.
Nishat Bagh - This garden is also a part of the Mughal gardens and it is Located on the
eastern side of the Dal lake, it is the second largest Mughal garden after the Shalimar bagh.
Pahalgam - It is the another famous destination which is located on the banks of
Lidar river. This place remains a hot spot as it is the base camp of the
Amarnath yatra.
Shalimar Garden - It was built by the Mughals in the Islamic nature. This place is
a hit with the tourists because of the feature it includes - pool, fountains and canals.
Sheshnag Lake - It is a high altitude lake situated on the track which finally leads to
the Amarnath yatra from Pahalgam.
Amarnath cave - It is a Hindu shrine located in Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is dedicated to lord Shiva.
