Tumbledown is a 1988 BBC Television drama film set during the Falklands War.
The film centres on the experiences of Robert Lawrence MC (played by Colin Firth), an officer of the Scots Guards during the Falklands War of 1982. While fighting at the Battle of Mount Tumbledown, Lawrence is shot in the head by an Argentine sniper, and left paralysed on his left side. He then must learn to adjust to his new disability.
The film sparked enormous controversy when first aired in 1988, in part because it conveyed the flat indifference shown by government, society and public to the returning wounded from the Falkands War - this content forms much of the story, as Lawrence struggles to come to terms with his terrible injuries, and to face a life in which he cannot do the thing he is trained to do, the thing he loves: soldiering.
The film also triggered controversy by presenting an unvarnished portrait of the protagonist - for example, his joy in the brutalities of war and a stunning flashback scene toward the end which shows him exulting at the top of Mount Tumbledown. The film portrays Lawrence's love of the military life as much as it portrays his feelings of abandonment and bitterness as he tries to cope with his wounds, with little help from the government that sent him into battle.

This is a tribute to the British Fighting Spirit proving that it has never wavered since W.W. II. Music selected for this clip is very well fitting. This was the second bloodiest ground battle in the Falklands.

But things change when she meets Andrew (Jason Sudeikis), a brash New York academic with an obsession for tragic artists and a different take on her husband. Though Hannah is skeptical of Andrew's motives, the unlikely pair strike up a deal to collaborate on the book, forcing them to confront truths about themselves and the possibility that the next chapter in their lives may involve each other. I had a 4 month detatchment down to the falkland islands and went on a battlefield tour to Mt Tumbledown. It was very humbling to be up there when you realise how hard the Scots Guards must have fought to take it, hand to hand and bayonets fixed. It was very serene and when I went into an argentinian bunker I saw PT shoes that they wore through winter due to lack of kit and had to feel sorry for them, like us now in Afghanistan and Iraq we dont have to agree to which wars we fight, we just do our duty. This video is a tribute to the men on both sides who fought and died on Tumbledown and due to people losing sight of this fact I have diabled comments to stop people just slagging each other off.
Shout just to make it clear
So loud so as you don't hear
That I made no sound
The second time around
If all is turned around
So smooth just to show you care
You built a new mountain there
That I can tumble down
The very first time around
The very first time around
The very first time around
I let you see how high life could be
But you dropped me down
The very first time around
The very first time around
The very first time around
(are you in love with someone) ??? (let me tumble down) ???
