Learn how an oil sample taken during an oil change can tell you the condition of the engine in your car.
With my Ford, I was curious about the condition of the engine after 300k miles. Are bearings worn? Is there a coolant leak? Is my oil protecting the engine? Sure you can do a compression test, but that only tell you so much. I could have used my borescope camera, but again, you only get so much info. With this oil analysis, you can learn a lot about the condition of your engine.

A video showing how easy and quick it is to change the oil on a Lamborghini Gallardo. While I am doing it on an LP-series, the same is essentially true for the oil change on the pre-LP gallardo as well.
While your car is in warranty, I'd suggest using the OEM oil to be 100% sure you won't have a problem. Otherwise, the 300V is a FAR superior motor oil in every way.
The Gallardo has a whopping SEVEN drain points. Most don't know all seven and it leads to not fully draining oil. This video shows all seven and how easy it is to drain them.
If you've never done an oil change on your Gallardo, then now is the time to start. It is extremely simple and rewarding... and you'll save a bunch of money. Spend it on a nice dinner instead and know you aren't being taken advantage of.

Motor oil or engine oil is an oil used for lubrication of various internal combustion engines. The main function is to lubricate moving parts; it also cleans, inhibits corrosion, improves sealing, and cools the engine by carrying heat away from moving parts.
Motor oils are derived from petroleum-based and non-petroleum-synthesized chemical compounds. Motor oils today are mainly blended by using base oils composed of hydrocarbons, polyalphaolefins (PAO), and polyinternal olefins (PIO), thus organic compounds consisting entirely of carbon and hydrogen. The base oils of some high-performance motor oils however contain up to 20% by weight of esters.
Motor oil is a lubricant used in internal combustion engines. These include motor or road vehicles such as cars and motorcycles, heavier vehicles such as buses and commercial vehicles, non-road vehicles such as go-karts, snowmobiles, boats (fixed engine installations and outboards), lawn mowers, large agricultural and construction equipment, locomotives and aircraft and static engines such as electrical generators. In engines, there are parts which move against each other causing friction which wastes otherwise useful power by converting the energy to heat. Contact between moving surfaces also wears away those parts, which could lead to lower efficiency and degradation of the engine. This increases fuel consumption, decreases power output and can, in extreme cases lead to engine failure.

While I am doing it on an LP-series, the same is essentially true for the oil change on the pre-LP gallardo as well. While your car is in warranty, I'd suggest using the OEM oil to be 100% sure you won't have a problem. Otherwise, the 300V is a FAR superior motor oil in every way. The Gallardo has a whopping SEVEN drain points. Most don't know all seven and it leads to not fully draining oil. This video shows all seven and how easy it is to drain them. If you've never done an oil change on your Gallardo, then now is the time to start. It is extremely simple and rewarding... and you'll save a bunch of money. What does a 300,000 mile oil change look like?
Learn how an oil sample taken during an oil change can tell you the condition of the engine in your car. With my Ford, I was curious about the condition of the engine after 300k miles. Are bearings worn? Is there a coolant leak? Is my oil protecting the engine? Sure you can do a compression test, but that only tell you so much. Learn how an oil sample taken during an oil change can tell you the condition of the engine in your car.
With my Ford, I was curious about the condition of the engine after 300k miles. Are bearings worn? Is there a coolant leak? Is my oil protecting the engine? Sure you can do a compression test, but that only tell you so much. I could have used my borescope camera, but again, you only get so much info. With this oil analysis, you can learn a lot about the condition of your engine.
