Desire

Desire is a sense of longing or hoping for a person, object, or outcome. The same sense is expressed by emotions such as "craving." When a person desires something or someone, their sense of longing is excited by the enjoyment or the thought of the item or person, and they want to take actions to obtain their goal. The motivational aspect of desire has long been noted by philosophers; Thomas Hobbes (1588–1679) asserted that human desire is the fundamental motivation of all human action.

While desires are often classified as emotions by laypersons, psychologists often describe desires as different from emotions; psychologists tend to argue that desires arise from bodily structures, such as the stomach's need for food, whereas emotions arise from a person's mental state. Marketing and advertising companies have used psychological research on how desire is stimulated to find more effective ways to induce consumers into buying a given product or service. While some advertising attempts to give buyers a sense of lack or wanting, other types of advertising create desire associating the product with desirable attributes, by showing either a celebrity or a model with the product.

Longing (play)

Longing is a 2013 play by the Scottish writer William Boyd based on the short stories "My Life" ("The Story of a Provincial") and "A Visit to Friends" by the Russian author Anton Chekhov. Its premiere production ran at the Hampstead Theatre from 28 February to 6 April 2013 (with press night on 7 March), directed by Nina Raine and starring Tamsin Greig, Iain Glen, John Sessions, Jonathan Bailey, Natasha Little, Eve Ponsonby and Catrin Stewart. Boyd, who was theatre critic for the University of Glasgow in the 1970s and has many actor friends, refers to his ambition to write a play as finally getting "this monkey off my back."

Artemiz

Artemiz is a fictional character, and extraterrestrial hunter published by DC Comics. She first appeared in Suicide Squad vol. 1 #35 (November 1989), she was created by John Ostrander and Luke McDonnell.

Fictional character biography

A member of the Female Furies, Granny Goodness' cadre of female warriors, Artemiz is a fierce archer that uses her bow and arrows as a weapon, as well as her cyberpak, Unus, Secondus, and Tertius, a trio of ferocious cybernetic wolves. Artemiz was not one of the original Furies, but rather joined after Lashina was betrayed by Bernadeth and left on Earth. Granny Goodness recruited Artemiz into the Furies to fill the loss. She often bickers with Stompa, but got along well with the other Furies. Her keen senses are often helpful, and the Furies occasionally have her scout the area rather than stay with the team.

During the battle with Suicide Squad, Artemiz battled Nightshade, who defeated her but did not kill her. Granny Goodness, after Nightshade's boasting, told her she should have. Later, she joined the Furies as they battled Supergirl while searching for Twilight.

MV Artania

MV Artania (previously Royal Princess and Artemis) is a cruise ship chartered since 2011 by Phoenix Reisen, a German-based travel agency and cruise ship operator. She was built for Princess Cruises by Wärtsilä at the Helsinki Shipyard, Finland, and was launched on 18 February 1984.

At a ceremony in Southampton, England, on 15 November 1984, the ship was named Royal Princess by Diana, Princess of Wales. After entering service on 19 November 1984, she cruised as Royal Princess until April 2005, when she was transferred to the control of P&O Cruises, and was renamed Artemis. In 2011, she moved to Phoenix Reisen's fleet, under the modified name Artania.

Royal Princess

Royal Princess was named by Diana, Princess of Wales at a ceremony in Southampton, Hampshire on 15 November 1984.

The ceremony was attended by members of the public, employees of the P&O Princess Group and local and international dignitaries including Mauno Koivisto, President of Finland. The Bishop of Southampton performed a blessing prior to the naming.

This dog food has been on 'The Whole Dog Journal's' recommended and approved dry dog food list for several years. The pet food includes the benefits of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, vegetables, fruits, herbs, digestive enzymes, and minerals to sustain the pet's nutrition. The main goal of the pet food is to prevent and possibly assist in curing diseases as a natural nutritious healing process. No Artemis product has ever been a part of a pet food recall.
