Santa Cruz do Sul é um município brasileiro no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A cidade é conhecida por ser a sede da maior Oktoberfest do Rio Grande do Sul, receber um dos maiores festivais de arte amadora, o Encontro de Arte e Tradição, e pelo Autódromo Internacional de Santa Cruz do Sul.
Localiza-se na mesorregião do Centro Oriental Rio-Grandense e na Microrregião de Santa Cruz do Sul. Com uma população estimada, em 2009, em 122.451 habitantes, é o pólo de uma área denominada Vale do Rio Pardo.
As principais indústrias de tabaco do Brasil estão presentes em Santa Cruz do Sul. Entre as instaladas na cidade estão Souza Cruz, líder em participação de mercado no País, e Philip Morris, que responde por 54% da arrecadação de ICMS do município, entre outras.
A presença dessas empresas tem o respaldo dos produtores rurais de Santa Cruz do Sul e cidades vizinhas, como Venâncio Aires, Vera Cruz e Rio Pardo, de quem o cultivo de tabaco para processamento é a principal fonte de renda. Cerca de 6,6 mil hectares da área do município são dedicados ao tabaco, que acumula uma produção anual de 14,7 mil toneladas, na safra 2012/2013. Quatro mil famílias santa-cruzenses dedicam-se à atividade.
A cidade também possui outros ramos fortes em sua economia, como o comércio e serviços. Com isto, o segmento comercial é hoje representado por aproximadamente 3.277 estabelecimentos e mais 2.793 empresas de prestação de serviços. Na totalidade o município tem 533 indústrias e 3.914 profissionais autônomos, formando uma rede bem estruturada.
Possui uma boa infra-estrutura para eventos, conquistando com isso o Selo Prioritário para o Desenvolvimento do Turismo. Tem dezesseis hotéis e cinco motéis, dispondo, assim, de 1900 leitos. Mais de trinta restaurantes, alguns cafés coloniais, mais de oito pizzarias além de um grande número de bares, oferecendo à comunidade a aos turistas uma variada gastronomia.
O principal evento de Santa Cruz do Sul é a Oktoberfest, uma festa popular gêrmanica, que ocorre anualmente na cidade no mês de Outubro. A Oktoberfest de Santa Cruz do Sul é a segunda maior do Brasil, apenas atrás da de Blumenau. A Oktoberfest é chamada de "a festa da alegria" e que contou na edição de 2008, por exemplo, com mais de 500.000 mil visitantes.

Santa Cruz do Sul (
pronunciation ) is a city in central Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The city has approximately 130,000 inhabitants and sits about 150 km (about 93 miles) from the capital city of the state, Porto Alegre. The city enjoys a high standard of living and gross income per capita is 2.5 times greater than that of the state of Rio Grande do Sul as a whole.
Demographics
The population of Santa Cruz do Sul has steadily increased, with help from immigration to Brazil during its early history.
Tourism
The Cathedral of São João Batista is one of the main tourist draws in the city. The adjacent block in front of the Cathedral, Getúlio Vargas Square, is adorned with fountains and trees. São João Batista Cathedral is one of the largest cathedrals in all of Brazil. The main edifice was built between 1928 and 1932 and the two 82-meter (269 ft) tall towers were added later.
Agriculture
The area around Santa Cruz do Sul is mainly agricultural, and produces large quantities of tobacco and soy beans for animal fodder. Most of the tobacco produced in the area is exported as a raw material for cigarette manufacturing plants all over the world. Soy bean processing plants sell several million tons of animal fodder annually, for domestic use and for export.

Cruz is a surname of Iberian origin, first found in Castile, Spain, but later spread throughout the territories of the former Spanish and Portuguese Empires. In Spanish and Portuguese, the word means “cross,” either the Christian cross or the figure of transecting lines or ways. For example, in the Philippines, the adopted Tagalog word is rendered to “krus” in plain usage, but the Spanish spelling survives as a surname.
The word "Cruz", as well as "Vera Cruz" ("True Cross") and "Santa Cruz" ("Holy Cross") are used as surnames and topological names. Santa Claus
Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Saint Nick, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, Santy, or simply Santa is a mythical figure with historical origins who, in many Western cultures, brings gifts to the homes of well-behaved, "good" children on Christmas Eve (24 December) and the early morning hours of Christmas Day (25 December). Santa Cruz do Sul é um município brasileiro no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A cidade é conhecida por ser a sede da maior Oktoberfest do Rio Grande do Sul, receber um dos maiores festivais de arte amadora, o Encontro de Arte e Tradição, e pelo Autódromo Internacional de Santa Cruz do Sul.
Localiza-se na mesorregião do Centro Oriental Rio-Grandense e na Microrregião de Santa Cruz do Sul. Com uma população estimada, em 2009, em 122.451 habitantes, é o pólo de uma área denominada Vale do Rio Pardo.
As principais indústrias de tabaco do Brasil estão presentes em Santa Cruz do Sul. Entre as instaladas na cidade estão Souza Cruz, líder em participação de mercado no País, e Philip Morris, que responde por 54% da arrecadação de ICMS do município, entre outras.
A presença dessas empresas tem o respaldo dos produtores rurais de Santa Cruz do Sul e cidades vizinhas, como Venâncio Aires, Vera Cruz e Rio Pardo, de quem o cultivo de tabaco para processamento é a principal fonte de renda. Cerca de 6,6 mil hectares da área do município são dedicados ao tabaco, que acumula uma produção anual de 14,7 mil toneladas, na safra 2012/2013. Quatro mil famílias santa-cruzenses dedicam-se à atividade.
A cidade também possui outros ramos fortes em sua economia, como o comércio e serviços. Com isto, o segmento comercial é hoje representado por aproximadamente 3.277 estabelecimentos e mais 2.793 empresas de prestação de serviços. Na totalidade o município tem 533 indústrias e 3.914 profissionais autônomos, formando uma rede bem estruturada.
Possui uma boa infra-estrutura para eventos, conquistando com isso o Selo Prioritário para o Desenvolvimento do Turismo. Tem dezesseis hotéis e cinco motéis, dispondo, assim, de 1900 leitos. Mais de trinta restaurantes, alguns cafés coloniais, mais de oito pizzarias além de um grande número de bares, oferecendo à comunidade a aos turistas uma variada gastronomia.
O principal evento de Santa Cruz do Sul é a Oktoberfest, uma festa popular gêrmanica, que ocorre anualmente na cidade no mês de Outubro. A Oktoberfest de Santa Cruz do Sul é a segunda maior do Brasil, apenas atrás da de Blumenau. A Oktoberfest é chamada de "a festa da alegria" e que contou na edição de 2008, por exemplo, com mais de 500.000 mil visitantes.

Santa Cruz do Sul é uma cidade ao Sul da capital do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre. Lá se situal as grandes companhias de cigarro, e também a Catedral São João Batista, a maior igreja estilo neo-gótico tardio da America do Sul. Com 82 metros de altura em cada torre, 38 metros de largura, 80 metros de comprimento e 26 metros de altura na nave central. Santa Cruz do Sul is a city 100 miles south of Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul State, in Brazil. There are the biggest smoke companies and the biggest late neo-gothic church of South-America, San Juan Baptist. This cathedral have 82 metters high each tower, 80 metters height and 26 metters in central dome.

So Hello from London! Time for a new destination. This is a city that I haven't visited in almost 4 years. So we're both very excited to be in London. And we're going to be making a little video guide. Actually a really big video guide because we plan on showing you 50 different things to do around London.
Our first stop was Trafalgar Square. This square leads to a lot of central attractions, so it's a nice place to people watch, get your bearings, and plan out where you want to go in the city.
The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the Thames. It offers a bird's eye view of the city.
Buckingham Palace has served as the official London residence for Britain's sovereigns since 1837. The State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are open to visitors every year.
The Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament, is the meeting place of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The Palace along with Big Ben are two of the top London attractions that dot the city-scape.
The Tower of London sits on the north bank of the River Thames.
And that's a wrap for London! Like with any mega city, it's impossible to cover all the sights and attractions you can enjoy here, but hopefully this video will give you an idea of what London has to offer.

Shaped by history’s defining events, World War Two, and the closing of the Iron Curtain, Warsaw is a survivor, and has risen from the ashes of war and the shackles of Communism.
Its true heart is its Old Town, the site of the Warsaw Uprising, one of the most heroic resistance actions ever seen against the nazis. After the war much of it, such as the opulent Royal Castle, was painstakingly rebuilt.
One of the few statues not destroyed by the German army, is the mermaid Syrena, the symbol and protector of Warsaw.
Visit St Johns Cathedral and St Anne’s Church, whose interior miraculously survived the war.
The Warsaw Museum, is the keeping place of the city’s dramatic stories.
Warsaw University served as military barracks while education was mostly outlawed, but an underground “secret university” of more than 3000 students emerged.
The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews was once the infamous Warsaw ghetto, where over 400,000 were incarcerated in just less than one and a half square miles. Nearby, the Warsaw Uprising Monument and the Warsaw Rising Museum pay tribute to one of the bravest chapters of the city’s history.
Visit the Palace of Culture and Science, a gift to the Polish people from Stalin.

32ª Oktoberfest de Santa Cruz do Sul
Cultura, alegria e diversão fazem da Oktoberfest de Santa Cruz do Sul, também conhecida como Festa da Alegria, um dos eventos mais populares do Brasil. Cerca de 400 mil pessoas visitam o município durante os 12 dias de festa para vivenciar um pouco da cultura e das tradições herdadas dos colonizadores alemães. Considerada a maior festa alemã do Rio Grande do Sul e organizada em parceria pela Associação de Entidades Empresariais de Santa Cruz do Sul (Assemp) e o Município de Santa Cruz do Sul, a Oktoberfest realiza, em 2016, de 5 a 16 de outubro, a sua 32ª edição, com o tema SABERES E SABORES da Tradição Alemã. Durante o evento, uma diversificada programação artística e cultural, com atrações para todos os públicos, aguarda os visitantes.

Cerca de 6,6 mil hectares da área do município são dedicados ao tabaco, que acumula uma produção anual de 14,7 mil toneladas, na safra 2012/2013. Quatro mil famílias santa-cruzenses dedicam-se à atividade.
A cidade também possui outros ramos fortes em sua economia, como o comércio e serviços. Com isto, o segmento comercial é hoje representado por aproximadamente 3.277 estabelecimentos e mais 2.793 empresas de prestação de serviços. Na totalidade o município tem 533 indústrias e 3.914 profissionais autônomos, formando uma rede bem estruturada.
Possui uma boa infra-estrutura para eventos, conquistando com isso o Selo Prioritário para o Desenvolvimento do Turismo. Tem dezesseis hotéis e cinco motéis, dispondo, assim, de 1900 leitos. Mais de trinta restaurantes, alguns cafés coloniais, mais de oito pizzarias além de um grande número de bares, oferecendo à comunidade a aos turistas uma variada gastronomia.
O principal evento de Santa Cruz do Sul é a Oktoberfest, uma festa popular gêrmanica, que ocorre anualmente na cidade no mês de Outubro. A Oktoberfest de Santa Cruz do Sul é a segunda maior do Brasil, apenas atrás da de Blumenau.
