Bangladesh is full of lushness. The nature has ornamented this country with diverse beauty. This country has waved hills, flowing rivers, biodiversity rich wetlands and forests and enormous Bay of Bengal. These places are rich with thousands of flora and fauna. So this country has got the recognition of golden country. But the glory of this country is now becoming pale. The nature of this country is not in a good condition. The nature has become rough and pallid due to our ruthless behavior. Our unplanned housing and urbanization are mostly responsible for this rusty nature. The population of this country is increasing day by day. The lifestyle of people is also changing. Due to the high population the demand for housing is also increasing. The cities are expanding; small towns are turning into cities. The demand for high-rise buildings is increasing. But these traditional housings system are not ecofriendly. Rivers, lakes, forests are being appropriated to build an unplanned housing system which is harmful for the environment. This increasing housing system is gradually ruining our green natural environment. The lucid environment is gradually becoming pale. To rejuvenate this nature and to live a healthy life, ecofriendly housing is essential. The ecofriendly housing system is cost effective and is beneficial for every element of the environment, including human. This type of housing is somewhat different from the traditional one. Ecofriendly and reusable elements are used, as much as possible, to build the ecofriendly houses. Stones and fiber glasses are mostly used to build an ecofriendly house to reduce the use of bricks and cement. To control the temperature, increased number of windows and ventilators are used in such houses. So light and air can get in easily. As a result, the temperature of the house naturally remains normal. Beside this, gardens are made on the roof of the house and in balcony. Thus the environment of the house remains fresh and the house becomes aesthetic. To meet the need of electricity, solar panels and energy saving LED lights are used. This helps in reducing the misuse of electricity. It is also possible to meet the need of light by using more glasses in the walls. A small play ground or open space is one of the major parts of the ecofriendly housing. Which provides us enjoyment and help in the natural growth of creativity. A proper waste management system has not been established yet in our large cities. As a result, the cities are burdened with waste pollution, which causes negative impacts on human health. So a special waste management system is present in the ecofriendly house. This way the waste management becomes easy and the city remains pollution free. Apt planning and initiatives can help a city to become ecofriendly. It is important to have enough traffic roads, proper water and waste management systems, specific areas for industries and enough greeneries. Instead of taking control over the environment the ecofriendly works bring good to the human and the world. So there is no alternative to ecofriendly housing for a planned city. Ecofriendly housing is also important to make the country green. Ecofriendly housing keeps our environment beautiful and at the same time it helps to keep our health and mind sound. Besides, the ecofriendly housing plays an important role in dealing with the adverse impacts of global climate change. As a result, ecofriendly housing is now a necessity for us. But for various reasons the ecofriendly housing has not become popular in our country. The lack of knowledge and awareness on environment is mainly responsible for that. The concept of ecofriendly housing is not clear among the people of this country yet. Our reluctance and lack of proper publicity are also responsible for this. But the ecofriendly housing has gained popularity in many countries. They are leading a beautiful and healthy life by promoting the ecofriendly housing. Presently the opportunity of ecofriendly housing is being created here in this country but it is still insufficient. People from every level have to work together to create popularity of ecofriendly housing to ensure the sustainable use of the natural resources. Public awareness as well as the Government, real estate companies and both national and international organizations can play a leading role in this regard. Ensuring ecofriendly housing will ensure clean environment and healthy life for us.
