Lamar's single has become a protest anthem over recent months

Protesters have chanted Kendrick Lamar's 'Alright' in celebration after hearing that Donald Trump had cancelled a recent rally in Chicago.
The rally - which was due to take place at the UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago) - was called off at late notice yesterday for security reasons, after protesters and Trump supporters clashed ahead of the event.
Trump, who is currently the frontrunner for the republican presidential nomination, told Fox32 that the problems at the event related to "anger in the country", continuing "I don't think it's anything to do with me, it's just what's been going on for years."

'Alright' has a notable history of appearances at social protests, and had its video criticised as "disgusting" by Fox News, with Geraldo Rivera controversially stating that "hip hop has done more damage to African Americans in recent years than racism," to which Lamar responded "How can you take a message of hope and turn it into hate?"
'Alright' was also chanted at the Million Man March for racial equality in October , and at a Cleveland State University protest against police harassment in July.
Lamar dropped a surprise new album 'Untitled Unmastered' last week, with hints that more is to follow emerging through a collborator in the aftermath of the release.
