Minecraft tour, castle and town by Scrapchallenge on Hat Films server

This is a tour of my castle and town (work in progress!) on the creative world of the hat flims hatventures server. I tried to base the castle on real world architecture, places and history, and largely built it in the order it would have evolved if it had been a real place. I starte off with the half timbered hall house with clay representing the wattle & daub infill. Next was the stable extension, using slightly different wood to reflect the fact it was built a little later, and on a cut stone base rather than cobble (representing clunch/rubble base). Next would come the kitchen/buttery and the servant's quarters, the brick barn following on, again varying the materials depending on what was available or fashionable for the time period. Next would come the barracks over the stables as the manor farm became more fortified and the lord of the Manor would be required to hold a small standing army for the service of the King in times of war. The watch tower attached to the barracks helped keep the estate safe. Also the gatehouse (with murder hole above the gap between the double portcullises). Next would come the main castle keep, followed by the half timbered guest house with red brick infill. I then started working on the town ward outside the main castle enclosure. Please bear in mind it is NOT finished, the exterior walls still need bringing up to height and fortifying properly, also there is little landscaping/terrain, and I haven't furnished any of my buildings yet. There are still plots of land waiting for structures as well. Because I didn't want every single build to be the exact same style I asked some friends to contribute some buildings here and there to add some variety. Please excuse the white monstrosity in the centre of the town - I built the pyramid and temple before I had built anything else on my plot, I didn't even mean to build it, it was a bit of an accident to be honest. It started with wanting to put a light at the centre of the crossroads where my 4 plots met, then a light became a beacon, which needed a pyramid, which needed a temple, and before I knew it that happened! Although it doesn't fit in with the mediaeval theme which grew up around it, I don't really want to destroy it either, so it remains a bit of an oddity. I do sincerely apologise to anyone whose name I have left off the credits, but as my friends will know I do have an extremely poor memory due to my medical condition, and I assure you any mistakes and omissions are not intentional! This was created on the Hat Films hatventures server, on the creative server. I also play on the survival server (vanilla), and have used the skyblock server and the minigames. They also have an FTB server but I don't use that. This is my largest video upload so hopefully will play ok without too much loss of quality.
