The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960. With members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the foremost and most influential act of the rock era. Rooted in skiffle, beat, and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later experimented with several genres, ranging from pop ballads and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock, often incorporating classical elements in innovative ways. In the early 1960s, their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania", but as the group's music grew in sophistication, led by primary songwriters Lennon and McCartney, they came to be perceived as an embodiment of the ideals shared by the counterculture of the 1960s.
The Beatles built their reputation playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg over a three-year period from 1960, with Stuart Sutcliffe initially serving as bass player. The core of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison went through a succession of drummers, most notably Pete Best, before asking Starr to join them. Manager Brian Epstein moulded them into a professional act and producer George Martin enhanced their musical potential. They gained popularity in the United Kingdom after their first hit, "Love Me Do", in late 1962. They acquired the nickname "the Fab Four" as Beatlemania grew in Britain over the following year, and by early 1964 they had become international stars, leading the "British Invasion" of the United States pop market. From 1965 onwards, the Beatles produced what many consider their finest material, including the innovative and widely influential albums Rubber Soul (1965), Revolver (1966), Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), The Beatles (commonly known as the White Album, 1968) and Abbey Road (1969).
The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. The first settled line-up consisted of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar), Bill Wyman (bass) and Charlie Watts (drums). Stewart was removed from the official line-up in 1963 but continued as an occasional pianist until his death in 1985. Jones departed the band less than a month prior to his death in 1969, having already been replaced by Mick Taylor, who remained until 1975. Subsequently, Ronnie Wood has been on guitar in tandem with Richards. Following Wyman's departure in 1993, Darryl Jones has been the main bassist. Other notable keyboardists for the band have included Nicky Hopkins, active from 1967 to 1982; Billy Preston through the mid 1970s (most prominent on Black and Blue) and Chuck Leavell, active since 1982. The band was first led by Jones but after teaming as the band's songwriters, Jagger and Richards assumed de facto leadership.

The Beatles Yellow Submarine Set (21306) is an unusual set for those who are unfamiliar with the animation or the music, but for many Beatles fans, like myself, this set is a nostalgic classic that is going to be a center piece for many Lego Collectors. The minifigures alone would have been a real treat, but to get the set with a cool box and what seems to be some unique printed pieces is a real treat. I buy allot of sets because I like the films and because of the designs designs, but this is the first set I would be buying because I love the music. I was surprised that Lego got the license to produce this set, but I'm pleased they did. This is likely to be the only Beatles set we are getting, but honestly, what better set could we get? For a great price of $59.99 (£49.99) this set...

The Beatles 1 Video Collection is out now. Available on: http://www.thebeatles.com/ Hey Jude topped the charts in Britain for two weeks and for 9 weeks in America, where it became The Beatles longest-running No.1 in the US singles chart as well as the single with the longest running time. The Beatles did not record their promotional film until Hey Jude had been on sale in America for a week. They returned to Twickenham Film Studio, using director Michael Lindsay-Hogg who had worked with them on Paperback Writer and Rain. Earlier still, Lindsay-Hogg had directed episodes of Ready Steady Go! And a few months after the film for Hey Jude he made The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus TV special that featured John and Yoko but wouldn’t be shown until 1996 To help with the filming an audie...
"Come Together" is a song by The Beatles written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon--McCartney. The song is the opening track on the album Abbey Road, and was released as a double A-sided single with "Something", their twenty-first single in the United Kingdom and twenty-sixth in the United States. The song reached the top of the charts in the US, and peaked at number four in the UK. @ 2012 EMI Group Limited

Get your copy here: http://thebeatles1.lnk.to/DeluxeBluRay “When you talk about destruction, don’t you know that you can count me out" “I did the slow version and I wanted it out as a single: as a statement of The Beatles’ position on Vietnam and The Beatles’ position on revolution. For years, on The Beatles’ tours, Brian Epstein had stopped us from saying anything about Vietnam or the war.” - John Lennon. “Plugging directly into the Abbey Road desk and pushing the needles into the red achieved the fuzz-guitar sound. According to George Martin “We got into distortion on that, which we had a lot of complaints from the technical people about. But that was the idea: it was John’s song and the idea was to push it right to the limit. Well, we wen...
Often considered the greatest band of all time, The Beatles redefined rock and roll in little more than a decade. From their breakout U.S. debut on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 to their final record Let It Be, “Beatlemania” transcended music. With legendary songs like “Can’t Buy Me Love”, “Love Me Do”, “I Wanna Hold Your Hand”, “Twist and Shout”, “Hey Jude”, and countless more, all four Beatles quickly became generational icons - John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr are names that will never be forgotten. Beyond their impressive 20 Number 1 singles, 10 GRAMMYs, and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Beatles have continued to inspire new generations of artists and diehard fans half a century after their break-up, and we’re here to check out why! So g...

This is my third attempt at uploading an album I've made out of the Get Back Sessions. The first one got taken down from 5 different copyright claims, and I've worked to fix that by changing the demos I've used on 4 of them, and replacing Teddy Boy with a bunch of different things I found interesting. The album excludes Let It Be and Long and Winding Road, as I believe that the two songs took away from the band's idea of "getting back" to their rock and roll roots, so I made it a single at the end of the album after All Things Must Pass. This album is not what I think The Beatles would've done had they stuck to their idea, only a collection of stuff that I liked in a track listing that makes sense to me. With that said, here's the track listing: Side 1: 1. 0:00 Get Back 2. 3:31 Love Me...

My own Black Album, what if the Beatles had gone to make another album after Abbey Road, I based this on the White Album, the songs are paired to a sibling on the White Album, so Band on the Run equals to Back in the USSR and Oh my Love to Dear Prudence, and so on with some anomalies of course. The Beatles had a break from their Autumn Tour, and spent the afternoon at the Granada television studios in Manchester filming a performance and interview for the Late Scene Extra and Scene At 6.30 programmes. They mimed to two songs: their forthcoming single I Want To Hold Your Hand and its b-side This Boy. The backdrop of the stage set contained enlarged fictitious headlines from the Daily Echo. The interview took place on the same set, and was conducted by presenter Gay Byrne. The Beatles were joined by Liverpudlian comedian Ken Dodd. The footage was used in the 27 November edition of Late Scene Extra, which was broadcast from 11.45pm to midnight, and in the 20 December edition of Scene At 6.30.
