The Nepal Cleft & Burn Center is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Charitable Organization headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. It was organized by a group of US-based Tibetan rug importers in an effort to give back to the wonderful people of Nepal.
Compassion for the well-being of our brothers and sisters around the world is the fundamental force in the creation of the Nepal Cleft & Burn Center in Kathmandu, Nepal.
MISSION STATEMENT:
To deliver quality, deformity-correcting reconstructive surgery to the poorest of Nepal through a permanent, sustainable healthcare infrastructure.

It took twelve years of hard work to build The Nepal Cleft & Burn Center, a 16,000-square-foot hospital dedicated to offering accessible health care to the poorest of the poor of Nepal. Watch an engaging documentary about the Nepal Cleft & Burn Center and its director, Dr. Shankur Rai.
History
Caring donors have given more than $750,000 to build Nepal's first teaching hospital for reconstructive surgery. The project is the brainchild of an American who came up with the idea while pursuing a very different calling as a retailer of fine textiles.

The donations have been arriving from our 2015 mailer and we want to thank everyone for their kind support. Each and every dollar matters, and we are humbled by the compassion in your hearts. The holidays provide a time for us to take inventory of the many blessings in our lives and if at all possible, share our blessings with those less fortunate than ourselves. Meet Dr. Rai
Dr. Shankar Rai has personally performed more than 6,000 cleft lip/palate procedures throughout Nepal.
The director and administrator of the Nepal Cleft & Burn Center is Dr. Shankar Rai. A native of the 'hill country' of Eastern Nepal, Dr. Rai is an internationally recognized reconstructive surgeon.
