Manly

Situated a little over 11km north-east of Sydney on the lower Northern Beaches, Manly has the proud distinction of being Australia's first sea-side resort. Any search on the internet for activities to peruse in Sydney will have the iconic Manly Ferry nested firmly in the top five. The Manly Ferry takes 30mins from Sydney's CBD, boasts million dollar views and at $14 return, is one of Sydney's last true bargains.

Manly's main attraction is its spectacular beach, with both surf and a number of volleyball nets. Many Sydneysiders would say that Manly beach is superior to the more famous Bondi Beach. Manly's commercial hub is centered around The Corso, which stretches from the harbour side at Manly Wharf, to the ocean side at Manly Beach. A large section of The Corso is a mall, mostly made up of trendy bars, restaurants, surf brand clothing stores and souvenir shops.
