This video was filmed from behind the Altar at St. John The Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Tampa, FL.
The Eastern Orthodox Christian Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom is the ancient, Christian Communion service, celebrated at least once each week in all Orthodox Christian churches throughout the world.
The Orthodox Church is also known as the "Early Church" or the "Apostolic Church." It was originally founded on the Day of Pentecost in 33 A.D.
Most Orthodox Christian churches are categorized by their country of origin. For example, the Greek Orthodox Church originally came from St. Paul, who was the first to preach Christianity in Greece.
St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Tampa, Florida is dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ as part of the one, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
The church shall seek to fulfill its mission by:
Embracing the Spiritual Life of the Orthodox Church through regular prayer, worship and frequent participation in the sacraments.
Supporting the Church through stewardship of time and talent and sacrificial giving.
Providing a welcoming, caring, loving environment.
Having its members exemplify Orthodox Christian character and morals.
Supporting ministries that facilitate the overall mission of the Church.
Exemplifying commitment to community service and charitable outreach.
Creating an environment which encourages members to grow in their faith.
May God Bless you and give you strength!

In the Divine Liturgy, are we merely commemorating historical events, or are we participating in the present reality? The Very Reverend Protopresbyter explains how Orthodox Christians are not prisoners to history. He also explains how and why personal, spontaneous prayer, while valuable, cannot replace the liturgy. He then passes on the warnings of the Church Fathers to the clergy regarding the power and solemnity of the Divine Liturgy, in that they are not mere forms, but are God-given for our salvation. The Divine Liturgy is not the pagan theatre.
