Eat Bulaga! is the longest running noon-time variety show aired in
the history of Philippine television, aired every 12 noon every weekdays and 11:30am during Saturdays produced by
GMA Network. The show is also broadcast worldwide through
GMA Pinoy TV. Eat Bulaga! became the first
Philippine show to be franchised by another country. ts easily recognizable theme song that begins with the famous phrase "
Mula Aparri hanggang Jolo" was introduced in
1982. In
2000, Eat
...Bulaga! became the first to give away millions on
Philippine television through its segments "
Meron o Wala" and then "
Laban o
Bawi".
On July 16,
2015, Eat Bulaga! introduced noontime's first and only live drama series shot on the streets, dubbed by
Joey de Leon as Kalyeserye, after the accidental formation of a new loveteam between co-hosts Alden Richards and
Maine "Yaya Dub"
Mendoza.
The new loveteam, popularly known as AlDub, #AlDub became the top daily trending topic on Twitter in the
Philippines and even worldwide.

Kalyeserye and AlDub
This segment features the antics of Wally Bayola as Lola Nidora, accompanied by her Yaya Dub, portrayed by viral Dubsmash personality Maine Mendoza. Initially started as vignette characters for
Problem Solving (particularly on Maine's part), the concept of the pre-Sugod
Bahay segment morphed into a continuing street sketch comedy due to the chemistry and drama between Mendoza and co-host Alden Richards, a new loveteam called AlDub. This thus became a parody drama series titled #KiligPaMore. Since then, the segment, the actors and the characters they play became a significant factor to the noontime show's higher television ratings.
Maine Mendoza
Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza, popularly known as Maine Mendoza, is best known for her viral Dubsmash videos, thus naming her "
The Philippines'
Queen of Dubsmash," and her role as Yaya Dub in the noontime variety show Eat Bulaga!'s Kalyeserye segment. After Mendoza was accidentally paired with Alden Richards forming the love team AlDub, the ratings of Eat Bulaga! were further increased.
Alden Richards
Richard Reyes Faulkerson, Jr., also known by the stage name Alden Richards, is a
Filipino television actor, host, model and recording artist signed with GMA Network. In 2015, Richards became a part of the Philippines' longest running noontime variety show, Eat Bulaga!. He is currently appearing as a co-host in the segment That's My Bae. His popularity has further skyrocketed not only because of the daily TV exposure as a mainstay co-host, but also because of the formation of an accidental love team between him and his Eat Bulaga! co-host Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza. Because of their huge popularity, Eat Bulaga! created a mini-series for AlDub labeled by Joey de Leon as Kalyeserye within the segment Juan
For All, All for Juan. The first portion of Juan for All, All for Juan. Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Maine Mendoza, and
Marian Rivera-Dantes (currently on hiatus due to her pregnancy) are the primary hosts in this segment, who are on-location at the chosen barangay for the day, with
Vic Sotto,
Tito Sotto, Joey de Leon and
Allan K hosting in the
Broadway Studio. A studio host draws an entry from a box containing registration forms from the chosen barangay and calls that person to confirm their name and address.
